Chevron Fuel System Cleaner okay for our TL's?
So, not that my TL has any apparent problems, but it is around the 55k mark and I feel that I should be performing some preventative maintenance around this time.
I'm considering putting 12oz of the Chevron Fuel System Cleaner but have gotten mixed reviews with some basic internet searching about whether or not it will have a net benefit on the car.
Here is it on amazon.

anyone tried this stuff yet?
Would appreciate your opinion, thanks

I used to use it in my integra every so often but now all I use is Shell 91 octane cause it has all the detergents in it already so there isn't really a need to use an aftermarket fuel system cleaner. Just use a top tier gasoline. Shell is one of them last I checked.

you're fine as you use top tier gasoline, ie chevron, shell, 76.
if you must, some people use seafoam. i've used it before on the TL i pasted own...worked just fine. not sure how i feel about it though. will i do it to my current G? nah...

I think the Redline S1 complete fuel system cleaner works best. It can be found at pepboys. I used chevron aswell but could never tell any difference but with redline the car actually felt peppier....

I use this after every oil change. You can pick up a 6pk at Costco relatively cheaply. Autozone and Advance Auto usually have it B1G1 free from time to time as well. It's decent stuff and I've been using it ever since I had my first vehicle. No negative effects.

Maintenance on my Mercedes is very nit-picky. M-B doesn't want you to use anything they haven't tested and approved. They not only want you to use Mobil 1; it has to be a special European blend of Mobile 1 (almost 9 quarts).
Techron injector/fuel system cleaner is the only one they recommend for use in M-B engines.
It's expensive.... but so is my engine. With dual overhead cams, 4 valves per cylinder, variable intake and exhaust, I'm not taking any short-cuts even if it is warranted up to 100k miles.

Agreed. Unless you've gotten a batch of bad gas but you would notice other symptoms.
As long as a top tier fuel is used, the fuel system will probably never need cleaning.
The Chevron cleaner is a concentrated dose of what's already in their fuel.
Read instructions carefully, some cleaners require that you change the oil fairly soon after you use them.
I've heard good things about Chevron fuel system cleaners as well as Amsoil and Redline.

I've used it on a couple of tanks in my TL in the past. I'm still running fine.

If needed run couple of tanks of the Seafoam stuff or Chevorn Techron Fuel system cleaner in the gas tank. Continue to use Toptier gas as IHC stated and you will not need to add any of this stuff to the gas tank. As far as the top end cleaner meaning the actual induction part and anything in the crankcase should be left alone

seafoam at cleaning dose of 1 can to 8 gallons gas is awesome -does more than just the basic cleaning action--`decarbonizer` for piston tops and intake valve backs etc
also cleans cat and O2 sensors!
www.seafoamsales.com for tech info and methods- far more than azine has in the diy
redline SI-1 fuel injector cleaner is right up there- for just the fuel system,
and is common to find run thru my cars over the years
lucas and chevron are ok products- have to read and follow the directions so used at cleaning dose, not maitenance dose,,treats 8 to 25 gallons means use a bottle in 8 gallons
