Cheapest place to buy replacement Type S Headlights?

Mine are fogging up a bit after opening them three times to perfect the zkwr lense. I have no time to take it all apart and clean out all of the sealant and put in new sealant. I message JNC to see if he could do a trade plus cash for his swap program, because I know he can fix them up.

I was also curious to see where would be the best and cheapest place to buy replacement headlights for my 2007 Type s?

I just want stock lights and no condensation. The best I have found so far is this

Pretty much eBay or the black market for good condition used sets. Anything new is going to be very expensive. Or craigslist.
I've found mint condition oem type S headlights on my local craigslist before for dirt cheap. Sometimes ppl don't know the worth of it, or sometimes it's stolen, who knows.

This is a perfect example of why im so hesitant (and probbaly wont) modify anything on my latest Type S. I have found that sometimes things are just better left alone. Basically things get messed with until they are broke and once they are taken apart and modified are never as good as they were stock.
On previous Type S's for example, when I have done ZKW-R lenses no matter how careful you are something wont be as good as it was stock after the mod. For me, the metal retainer clip broke on ALL of them, they never sealed back together perfectly no matter how good I did it. On suspension I have messed with, a bolt broke that holds the rear seat in place and it will never be the same because of that. A push clip fell somewhere and was lost that holds the rear decklid in place lol.
For these exact reasons are why I do not ever buy modified cars.
Sorry to get off topic here I think my older age is really starting to show :-)
To try and answer your question I agree with paperboy, probably ebay is your best bet, but unfortunatly there is no way to see just how good the front lens is unless you see them in person. I have also heard that the Depo OEM replacements look great, but the projectors are horrible. So I have read to avoid those.

I have had good luck with ebay headlights over the past like paperboy said. You can usually find a decent deal, or you could possibly try a junk yard if you live in a larger city?

Hahaha damn you got me. But no they are just very minor things that don't bother most people, but it's true when doing mods chances are things won't always go back together perfect like they were originally.

I definitely agree the TL isn't the easiest car to work with. The headlights are tricky and my first pair of headlights took me many many tries to seal. After having worked on at least 100 pairs of headlights, I've gotten a lot more experience now. I'm on my 3rd pair of headlights, but haven't had have never had condensation issues since the 2nd pair.
I've found out that it's most important to retain all the tabs and not break them during removal. Definitely not an easy task if it's your first time though.

^True, I had a tough time when clearing my original ones. They fogged up after a month or so, I was so pissed and regretted ever messing with them. I had my new ones done by jnc and they look OEM and have no issues, had them about a year now. I think if I had a type s id leave them alone, they look pretty good from the factory.

I agree 100%. Thats one thing that I really liked about the Type S was how well the headlights were done right from the factory. This is just personal opinion, but they did them so good that when people mod a Type S headlight I actually think it looks worse or simply put, a downgrade.

Apparently the hair dryer and hose method works. I remember rockstar posting that in the DIY cleared/blacked out headlights thread.

You wouldn't even have to remove your bumper, just pop out your DRLs and turn signals so the air can circulate.

I'd try it before buying a new set of headlights

What kind of sealant did you use btw?

So I feel like a complete amateur! I have done dozens upon dozens of headlights and everytime I reseal them I use the factory rubber butyl sealant that you are supose to. I was baffled at why they kept leaking and had condensation in them! I was so annoyed I decided to give it one final try to fix them while my bumpers were getting repainted. So This morning I bake open a headlight and there was a sufficient bead of sealant! I think ok, this is a bad start! Where could it be leaking? so I completely disassemble the headlight internals and clean it all out only to find no holes or leaks. I get to removing all of the bulbs and when I get to my v3 triton switchbacks. BAM! It was leaking there on both sides. The pack of gaskets I got to seat the bulb in had 3 different sizes to put on the bulb. I remember when I first installed them that only one gasket fit, but on closer inspection today it showed that there were little leaks on the sides and it wasnt big enough to cover the opening.

So I decided to get the biggest gaskets from my kit from before and trimmed them for a super tight snug fit! Im leaving the headlights open inside the house for the day to let them fully dry and tommorow morning I will reseal them and install them. I am now 90% sure this was me leaking problem and am awaiting the excitement to see no more condensation.

Has anyone else ever ran across an issue like this from the v3 tritons??
