I would highly recommend Bruce over at Speedstyles. 704-882-0333. I had Lightning Mike's on Monroe road tint my tl-s but I had to go to Bruce to get the rear quater window done right.

thank, ive delt with SPeedstyles before, great people...by the way what did it run you, cost wise? im going to get legal tint, just wanting to keep the UV out so it wont ruin my leather and at the same time, reduce the temp inside the car.

Actually I paid $200 for 15% @ Lightning Mikes. When Ibwent to speedstyles bruce only charged me $20 to fix the rear quarter window. He said he would have done the whole car for $180. I should have gone to him first. When I get some moelskin I will take it back to speedstyles so Bruce can do the whole car. I've got scratches on the inside. Not very noticeable but would like it better with the moleskin on there.

Hey everyone thought I would bump this thread. Well here is my issue I have an 00 TL with legal tint on all the widnows expect the rear. Not only is the rear illegeal but its peeling and hard to see out of. Now of course in order to get it inspected I need legal tints (which I would rather have it done under the table but cant find anyone). Anyway Does anyone know if these places will fix the back window tint to whatever the legal limit is?

Wait wait its 35%? last year when I got my car inspected the guy said your sides are 28% which is fine but your back is too dark (20%) so I got my inspection done under the table instead of fixing it. So in order to totally 100% be legal I would have to get all my windows redone?
Also the thing is I could peal the rear window tint off myself but im afraid I would mess up the deforster or it would leave behind some sticky crap.

Yes, legal in NC is 35%, plus or minus a couple of points.

Got pulled over twice this week for the window tint. They are doing some type of operation where the officers are targeting vehicles with dark windows. The first officer issued me a ticket, so i'll be taking the tint off soon.

I did read that CMPD is cracking down on heavy tints. They've got some meters so they can measure when they make a pullover. They feel that heavy tint is just a way to hide criminal acitivity and have already found a good number of unregistered firearms. The article said 35% was legal, but CMPD'll let you go to 28%.

28% is a perfect look, in my opinion...not too dark, not too light...just a good dark smoke...you can still see out and the cops can still see enough to feel safe.
By the way, where was this article? The Disturber?

Yeah I dont like charlotte cops would care much about my 28% I mean it does look pretty legal compared to some other cars. What I find funny is it says we wont get a ticket unless its at 28% and thats excately what mine is at so I hope I get a cool cop if the time ever comes. However I disagree with the fact that if you have window tint its for illegal stuff which is not always true. I just like the way it looks. However I can see how people would do that but I just dont think thats why everyone does it as this article implys.

^^^Thanks. Interesting article...Eastway division...can't say I'm shocked. Somehow I bet the folks with dark tint around where I live (South Park) aren't getting pulled and searched, though.
