First off when you get the replacement bulbs, or if you have someone put them in for you. WEAR LATEX GLOVES, do not risk getting your finger oils on the bulbs it will destroy them. Passanger side is a ton lot easier cause not alot of stuff in the way, the driver side is alittle trickier, I know alot of people have removed the inside wheel well fender lining and went in through their to change the driver side bulb out.

The passanger side you can do through the engine bay but the the driver side is alittle trickier, you can do it from above but will probably need to remove the battery to access it.

It's really not to bad maybe 20 minute job, there is a DIY in the 3G Garage that someone wrote how to do it So I would suggest looking in there.

I tried the easy method and after about an hour gave up... the reason I had so much trouble is that the torx screw that holds the cover in place is actually a security torx screw.

Make sure you disconnect all wires connecting to the headlights and the ignitor/regulator; the amount of voltage that thing generates can kill you

Usage, you'll be seeing more and more of this soon with 04-05 headlights, then in a couple of years the ballasts would start going bad, I am already seeing this with 02-03 TLs as their ballasts are going out without any evident reason.

OP, spend some dollars and get a fresh pair of bulbs for both headlights to make sure the color is same from both.

I had a light go pink - it was a bad ignitor / regulator.. I have an extended warranty (yay!!); on my paperwork it was $600 - $700

dude, take off the bumper..it makes the change so much easier. I tried the simple way first and it was just a PITA. I ended up removing the bumper and then taking out the headlights which is not that hard. Bumper removal will take you 30 minutes at most if its your first time.. Check out SanDiegoDrive's sweet DIY video https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-2004-2008-93/diy-video-updated-removing-front-bumper-3g-garage-e-080-a-628363/

The headlight change after that won't take you that long either, maybe about another 30 minutes. Take a look at this thread for the scans https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-2004-2008-93/headlight-front-bumper-inner-fender-w-wash-tank-hid-bulb-scans-garage-e-001-g-001-a-587181/

In all it should take at most about 1.5 hours. Trust me, its not worth the frustration to change the bulbs without removing the bumper.

GL.

It's possible that you just have a bad bulb; either way the bulb replacement is on you (gotta love that.. in my case a still in-warranty part went bad and took another item with it, but since that item is wear/tear it is not covered by the warranty)

Mine lit up fine, then about 20 seconds later turned pink.. after a day or two it started arcing like a strobe light everytime i turned my lights on for about 2-3 minutes, then it finally shut off. The HID system goes through 2 phases I believe, first is initial burn then it maintains the voltage to keep the xenon gas ignited. Since my regulator was messed up it was starting/then dropping/starting/dropping etc etc.

Either way get new bulbs and replace them both!

As I said earlier, you have an old bulb, just change the bulbs and you'd be fine.

What kind of ballasts does Acura use? I have Philips Ballasts in my other car, and they have been working fine for 10 years now...
