Plasti-Dip FTW.

You guys did an awesome job with the vinyl, but it sure sounds difficult. I disassembled and plasti-dipped the parts, and it came out great and is holding up with no issues.

Sticker City rapes on shipping, avoid them. $20 to ship a roll of vinyl 200 miles? My ass.

did you disassemble everything when you plasti dipped? I tried painting without disassembly, and when I pulled back the newspaper, the Plastidip peeled back like hell

ahh when i vinyled mines i didnt do the main part that was attached to the bumper... after talking to sharksbreath he said it wasn't removable but you could still vinyl it in place.

i'll eventually get around to doing that and posting pics of the outcome.

for now i need more vinyl, does anyone know if there's a specific type of vinyl that can only be used in these applications for our cars, or are all vinyls the same?

i ask because i see this on ebay and was thinking about buying it, but when it comes to vinyls i don't know if theres a "better" brand or a "cheap" brand.

2ftx10ft for ~$15

Here one of the AZ guys posted this link http://www.uscutter.com/ORACAL-651-I...oll_p_105.html
10 yard ~ 30 feet. That seems quite cheap. I need to redo mine, cuz i messed up. Anybody know if that black matches up with sticker city's glossy black?

i am thinking of doing this as well! but how the hell do you the trim/grill piece off from the hood? the bottom part is part of the bumper which you remove after removing the bumper. thanks guys!

@dreaddark...that 651 stuff is cheap and will scratch when your use the squeeze to remove the bubbles!!! i bought a whole roll from a vendor on here to do my roof. (not gonna say the name). went to do it and the stuff is so thin i ripped it! like ripped it in the middle, my fingers went right through it! this stuff does not stretch when heated. got pissed off and peeled it off! so i would recommend to spend extra $$ and get the good stuff!

There are 4 bolts that secure the trim piece to the hood from the underside, and a plastic tab that clips to the center.

if you're familiar with vinyling cars than you should already have a idea on how to do the grill.

just disassemble the pieces and work on one piece at a time. i would say it's alot harder to vinyl the pieces that has alot of curves and indentions.

It's not as difficult as everyone makes it seem (including me in my previous posts), it's just a VERY VERY VERY tedious and time consuming task. I never worked with vinyl of any kind before I wrapped my grill, and it turned out VERY well on my first try. I did have to re-wrap the bar in the center, but only because it wasn't 100% perfect and it really bothered me. Just try it, and you will be fine. The trick is to heat the vinyl and stretch it right away. If you need it to stretch more to get around some of those contours - heat it more/again and stretch more/again.
