Changing atf

hey guys, i am new to this site and i love it by the way. i've learned quite a few things prior to picking up my '05 tl with nav. the car has about 65k miles on it and i had an oil change the other day. when i was at the dealership i forgot to have them do the 3x3 drain and fill. i know it should be drained and filled at 60k but i was wondering if i can wait til the next oil change to have the 3x3 done? about 4k miles to go. also, how can i check the atf level, should the car be started?. thanks!

Welcome. I wouldn't get the 3x3 done at the stealer, because they will charge you an arm and a leg. Here's the DIY thread for the tranny drain/fill:

https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-2004-2008-93/rr-journals-atf-drain-refill-3g-garage-c-012-a-556044/

The sooner you change it the better, but you should be fine waiting to do it until your next oil change.

Start the car and let the cooling fan mounted to the radiator come on and then shut the car off. Check the fluid immediately. Read the thread above and do the 3x3 yourself if your mechanically inclined. It's quite easy but does take some time.
