Same car and all he had was CAI, pulleys, Stage III exhaust (no mid-muffler, dynomax resonator, which adds very little power, 5hp maybe), and outlaw thermoblock spacers.

So you should be making the same amount of power, he was a MT and you're an AT so you lose out on some power with your Torque Converter.

 

No offense... but challenging others in their own forums and then asking to place $500 for a street run is... well... childish.

Lostkhan, I know you recently got your TL-S but take it easy, there are still tons of things you need to learn before you go off shooting your mouth elsewhere.

For instance....

There is no way those mods alone will ever make 300 whp. A stock 02-03 TL-S will put somewhere around 195 hp to the wheels. With all bolt ons + tune, you're looking at 240 whp. Supercharged 2nd gen TL-S' with all bolt ons on average get around 300 to the wheel.

S1cktypes' advice about getting Nos is your best bet, but Nos will put lots of stress on your engine.

I suggest doing some research about the 2nd Gen TL-S to learn about the limitations of our cars.

I have I/H/P/E and I dynoed 225 last summer. I'm hoping that spacers and a Tune can help me get closer to the 240 someone posted. I love my car, but I know it's not a race car.

Thats tru, i know M5, M6, M3 and 335 are some fast cars, But also They are way more expensive. The posers who drive the 3series and 5 series (Not v8) think dey are fast when the truth is they are not fast. BMW did not design those cars to be fast, but to be a luxury. Just today in the morning i smoked a 3series i think it was 2002. The guy was driving like he is driving some fast car, full paced and didnt even look at me Once after losing that bad. My point is they DONT know what they are talking about!

2nd of all, i told the guy to give me the update for the race cause im ready after Monday. Lets just hope there is no issue with my tranny, Than im installing my headers and pulley and Off to race him!

If he's boosted you have no chance and if a 330ci E90 makes any kind of mod you'll get eatin up.

 

e90 doesnt have a 330ci they have the e92 335....im talkin about the e46 330ci

 

Just to play devils advocate:

Well.. the BMW driver probably didn't think he was racing you, hence he didn't look at you And there are other BMWs that are faster than TLs that you did not list. And how are they posers? Cause they think they're fast? I bet they think the same thing when they see a FWD Acura trying to race random people on the freeway. I doubt Acura necessarily designed the TL to be fast (it is not a sports car), and wanted the TL to be the luxury midsize sedan in their lineup.

And well yeah.. M series and 335 should be more expensive.. they out perform the TL... you think you can get a European car that will outperform a TL for the same price or less?

And note, the only thing you will be comparing when you race the guy will be straight away speeds; not handling, not 1/4 mile times, not even drag racing since you will be doing it from a roll.

But anyway, just know that BMW's are great cars in their own right. I've had fun driving BMW's even if they are just 330s; they'll take turns much better than our TLs will.

Just go out there and race the guy. That guy is a moron, but at the same time you did call him out. The sooner you race him, the sooner you can get back to liking your car without having to prove something to an arrogant BMW idiot.
