Lipless looks the cleanest.
If you get the lip, don't ruin your trunk by drilling it. Just use the double sided tape. You can then have the option of going back lipless in the future w/o having to plug holes in your trunk.
I had the lip on my car for about a year then I removed it because I was going to install new tape because it started to come off. When I removed it, there was tons of dirt and sand trapped under there and caked to my paint. I cleaned it off and liked the look of my car better w/o the lip. Also I'm too OCD knowing about the junk that gets built up in there.
Save yourself money, save your paint and save a little weight staying lipless.
