Center Dash Storage Bin in 6MT Models

Hello all.

Now that people have had their 6MT's for nearly a year, what is the verdict on the usability of the little storage bins below the radio in the center stack.

I do not have the car, but it seems like it is not convenient to get to the lower bin while in 1st, 3rd or 5th.

Opinions appreciated.

Thanks.

It has a rubber coating on the bottom, so its perfect for my cell phone. I slip it in there and its small enough regardless of what gear i'm in, and it doesn't fly around cause of the rubber bottom.

I haven't found a use yet, but then again, I have only had the car a week. Has anyone noticed how cold the center console gets when the A/C is on? I put my drink in the cup holder the other day and when I took the drink out to get a sip, my drink was still cold, no ice in drink. Not sure if this was done by design or not, but its pretty cool..

Several people have mentioned the aluminum strips getting cool to the touch when the A/C is on, and I figure this is because the backseat has two vents for A/C as well, so the cool air has to travel through the center console to get to the back, cooling the surrounding areas at the same time.

Guess it is not too versatile.

Just wondering. In the Accord, you can store about a dozen CD's, with jewel cases, in the center console.

Cell phone slips in, and can hold CD cases (but not DVD-A).

i use it as a miniature garage for my little scale model integra (i use to own one). i just play around and tell others i have a carbon fiber garage and then pop it open so they can see the little integra. when a TL scale model is made then it will replace the integra. i'm not joking either =)

Why don't you use homelink instead of carrying a garage door opener along?

Some garage doors re-scramble after every use, disallowing someone to mimic the signal....my guess is that, since he has a GATE for chrissakes.

Homelink doesn't want to store my gate and garage codes for some reason.

Ironic...

Those storage bins appear to be sized to accept jewel cases, the irony being that while jewel cases do fit nicely the official, oversize, DVD-A cases don't - but SACD cases do. :sqnteek:

This time the engineers missed the mark.
