The hinge on my center consule started squeaking when I open it. I've considered just putting a little WD40 on a rag and lubricating it but I am concerned that may end up messy. Anybody with the same problem or ideas to fix this?

 

You can buy a clear silicon spray which will lubricate something like this but will not be messy like WD-40.

Or you can let the dealer do it the next time you are there, and if he messes it up it is his fault. It could be something that needs replacing rather than lubricating.
