CD text

I know that the TL doesn't have RDS, but does it support CD text?

I doubt it. CD-Text is a Sony invention (just like SACD). I doubt Panasonic would bother licensing competitor's technology just for the kicks. Besides, how many disks have you seen that use CD-Text?

My home deck supports CD-Text. I have about 300 CDs and maybe 3 or 4 of them are with CD-Text. The other 296 don't have it.

Now, if you are making your own CDs, then yes, you can put CD-Text on it. Bu wait, you can only do that if you have a Sony CD/DVD writer, because most of the others don't support this format.

Argh, if you ask me, CD-Text is not worth the trouble.

Well, I burn my CD's using Easy CD Creator and it gives me the option to add CD text. I have a bunch of CD's with CD text on them.

Just for the record, my Lite-On CD Burner can do CD-Text just fine. In fact, if you look at burner specifications you will see that most actually do burn CD-Text these days.

OK, that's great. I'm afraid that TL still doesn't support CD-text, though. I can't say that I'm missing it.

As for RDS, it is very popular and extremely successful in Europe, but I don't think too many radio stations are using it in the US Still, the only thing I've been listening to recently is XM radio and boy that is awesome. So to me RDS is a moot point at this point :p
