Caution Light/Smell....On then Off. 04' TL...Please Help
I was driving down the highway yesterday, in pouring rain. Down to 2 lanes, concrete barriers on each side. Speed was about 40 mph. Because of the heavy rain / humidity I had the fan on to keep the windows clear. I smelled something funny, like tires (when a truck locks up its breaks and you get that burn-out tire smell, thats what it smelled like). I looked down and noticed my caution light was on too.
The smell went away pretty quick, after maybe a minute or two, but the light stayed on. I couldnt pull over anywhere because of the barriers for about three or four miles, so I took it easy and pulled onto the shoulder when it was available. Figured I'd turn her on and off and see if that cleared it, which it did.
Car worked normal the rest of the night and today so far. No lights, no smell.
Anybody have an idea what it might be or whether I should be concerned?
Thanks in advance for any replies.

What kinda caution light was it? the /!\ ?? That would indicate loss of traction. But it should't stay on, IMO. I guess if it didn't happen again, I wouldn't worry too much. But I would have to look at all of the tires and be sure I didn't have a slick, and maybe look at some other items just to assure myself. If it bothers you, have a mech look at it and tell you that there's nothing wrong. Better yet, he'll find a problem and you can spend some more cash on your baby. Maybe even another chance for an upgrade.

Thanks guys. I believe it was the /!\ but I figured it wouldn't stay on also, so thought it might have other meanings other than just loss of traction.
Tires are new, probalby < 1,000 miles on em'.
I'll be looking out and see what happens...figure everything should be ok. Was just looking to see if anyone else experienced this or knew about anything similar or as to why the light would stay on.
