QEW is marketed to RV owners who often find themselves at places where water restriciton is a problem. Detailers use it for jobs where they have to travel to the client.

QEW leaves no residue. Put an ounce into a gallon of water. With a wash mitt, you can do your whole car with just that gallon of water. Use a second gallon of water for rinsing your mitts.

You wash a section with QEW water water, then dry it immediately. Move on to the next section. With practice, you can wash the car in about 30 min. in your garage at any time.
What about all the dirt man? If you have a lot of dirt won't you scratch the car without much water?

Not really. As long as you have enough solution in your mitts. Also, I've noticed in areas where some QEW/water solution has hit a particularly dirty area, the QEW seems to *lift* the dirt and hold it in solution. That, combined with the thick nap of the mitt, should prevent the dirt from scratching the car.

I understand your concern though. I had the same concerns. However, I figured if it was good enough for the detailing pros on autopis, good enough for me.

It's worked great for me so far but I have a SSM TL so that hides just about any microscratches. However, I have been using QEW on my friends NPB Honda Civic and so far, no scratches or swirls (and I know because I recently used DACP to remove just about all the scratches/swirls so the paint is in great condition.)

Carwash at Home Concept:

1). Heated/Aircondition garage
2). Drain in the center of the garage--sloping floors to the center
3). Above ground--electric-over-hydraulic lift
I could raise the TL to wash the wheels, under-carriage, lower part of the car..all at a comfortable standing height.
4). epoxy resin floors
5). epoxy resin walls-covering the greenboard walls--waterproof the entire garage!
6). Keg Fridge w/Redhook ESB on tap
7). Barbeque inside, that is ventilated outside--w/some of that metal, clothes dryer hose.
8). Hooters Calender ( * )( * ) ( . )( . ) ( ^ )( ^ ) I love hooters
9). 9 foot long--red leather couch
10). air-compresser plumbed in from out back
11). 72inch, rear projection Flat HDTV recessed flush
12). 5.1 surround sound system w/XM receiver
13). side-draft HEPA Filtration System--to use garage as a Paintbooth

Last but not least....

Full size, Arcade version of ASTEROIDS.

Yah baby!

And those who can afford that setup probably would own a TL as a "backup" toy for when their McLaren is in the shop (which might be often). And their full-time car wash team would do the work anyway.
