Car Seat and Leather Seat

How do you protect the car seat from digging into the leather over time? I was thinking of adding some kind of plastic padding along the bottom edge of the car seat. Any ideas?

you can put down towels or pillows or you can buy seat protectors for that exact purpose!

Prophylactics. Like a 98% success rate or something.

towels YES

pillows not so much, due to the fact that then it will probably make the set kinda wobbly, and not allow the seat to be properly tightened down

Piece of old carpet. Pile down is soft against the leather and the somewhat rigid backing keeps the car seat edges from digging in.

+1 for the car seat protectors. I have one in my 4Runner and it works great.

I think I paid $20 for it...well worth the investment.

I've tried several different seat protectors over the last 9 years. A lot of them don't do much at all for keeping the seat from getting depressions in it. (I suppose a towel would probably fall into that category.) They may help to keep a spill off the seat, but that's about it.

The one that I like the best, and still use for my son's booster seat is a simple one-piece rubber mat. It's made by Prince Lionheart, but I don't think they make this one any longer. It's made of a thick, heavy rubber that does a great job of keeping the seats looking like new.

I just traded in our Lexus GX about two weeks ago (with beige leather). That truck had at least one, sometimes two car seats in the back for the last 4 years, and the back seat still looked like new.
