Car got broken into...
#42
I know this sounds crazy, a few years ago a friend of mine had a g35 coupe (I'm sure it works on the sedan as well) he was at the mall and came back to his 2 front windows completely down and his door handle sort of loose. Things were obviously missing however, he started hearing more and more stories of people shoving a flat head screw driver in to the key hole, breaking the locking mechanism and the windows would automatically role down thinking a key was in the hole actually unlocking the car and holding the key.
I'm sure this isn't what happened in your case as you said there was no physical damage but I'm sure sick people out there have tried this on other cars.
From a g35 forum "i've had my 07 G35x sedan for a month now.. i'm in Central NJ.. tonight i was in a strip mall for about 30 minutes, came out, and the door lock cover was popped off and windows rolled down.. a few items were taken from the backseat (new shoes, shirt), i was stupid for leaving them visible..
luckily the door damage isnt too bad but i am seriously concerned about Infiniti's "feature" of auto roll down windows.. when i got home tonight, i jumped on Google and came across atleast 5 discussion threads about the same break in method (all in NEW JERSEY too). this is a serious design flaw and has been exploited for "thieves" gain
I can have the car fixed but i need this auto window roll down feature disabled, i have no use for it..
Thanks guys!"

nothing was damaged, but all the compartments were opened to check then closed after like nothing happened, they stole my sunglasses from my door slot and my old iphone from the center console pocket. they even opened my trunk to check stuff without even opening the doors.
But sorry to hear OP, at least they didn't vandalism your car afterwards . Glad I have the Viper 5901 on mines.

My brother took his car to Best buy to get his 5901 installed and everything seems to be functioning correctly. I personally didn't like the idea of taking mines to Best buy. Heard people's car catching on fire from remote starter installs there. So I took mines to a local Viper certified shop to do my installation.

My wife got into our Type S couple mornings ago and the $300 radar detector was gone. Nothing else was touched, glovebox not opened, there was a bag of money (coins and a couple ones) and about $10 in console compartment was all still there. We were thinking that she left the doors unlocked the night before and some kids happened by and got the detector. In our driveway also sits a Honda Pilot with a system in it, my golf clubs and a duffle bag on the front seat, but nothing touched. After reading this thread I'm beginning to wonder if the detector was stolen while she was at work. She works at a large retail center, like an outdoor mall. Her weekend hours are until 9PM and I like the fact she can get the car unlocked before she gets to the door and get in quickly. If we should lock manually that means we unlock manually as well? So the FOB is useless......Then I need to install an alarm it would seem. What's the best one around??

OP, my guess is you accidently hit the button on your fab that opened all your windows. My lincoln LS did the same thing. One morning i went out to my car and my neighbor in my apt complex was like "Geez how many drinks did you have last night?" Im like why, she pointed at my car and all my windows were down with literally 6 inches of snow on all 4 seats and all over my center counsel. Nothing was stolen, but i'd bet that exactly what happened.

There's no differences in the two other then the remote. Matter of fact, you can even pair the 5902 remote to the 5901 if you wanted to.

My feeling is the equipment needed to scan codes from keyless entry, especially a hi end system like the TL employs would be very expensive. Stealing change, iPods and other low value items wouldn't justify the cost. The story above about someone unlocking their car only to have someone unlock it while they were still around and the person relocking the car only to have it be unlocked again sounds like BS to me. You don't know who you are messing around with and broadcasting your presence would be counterproductive and asking to get caught. How do you know how long the person will be gone, if they have anything worth stealing, or that no one is watching. Seems like a lot of risk for very little return.
Allowing some highschool kid a best buy install an alarm in your TL is bad news.

Well if you guys happen to be in the NYC area let me know for an alarm install. I got my Python installed with tilt and move sensors installed for $100 at an audio shop of a friend of mine up in the Bronx. He's really skillful and knows everything about pretty much every car! If you guys need the referral let me know!

I had a 86 legend. Got into the car at Safeway looked around saw a baby seat in the back, wasn't my car but my old key opened it and started the ignition. If I hadn't seen the baby seat I would have driven away. The other person would have thought someone stole their baby seat, not the car. Same car, color and it was a stick. Worn out keys and locks will allow some crazy stuff.
