Car feels faster, smoother and stronger with full tank of gas
Is it just me or do our cars really perform better with a full tank of gas. EVERYTIME when i fill up my car, it accelerates smoother and stronger. It feels like my car just gain 20hp after a fill up. Theoretically, cars should feel faster with low gas because of the weight but i never feel that way. Any explanation?

It might seem faster, but if you think about it, it goes slower seeing how you juat added around 12 gallons of liquid to your car. My car RUNS better with a new tank, but on a 1/4 tank it will run just a tad faster. Not something most people would notice. But my parents said for them to pay for my gas, I have to fill up every half a tank (I think it is crazy seeing how they have to pay the same amout).

I never let my car get past less than 1/4 of a tank and today I took my sister's 3G TL out and it seemed like it was a totally different car. Why? Her fuel gauge was on "E." Freaking amazing what that small amount of weight reduction can do.

Nope, mine feels more responsive after an oil change though?

Oil is 10x thicker when cold than at full temp yet people claim to feel a difference between a hot operating temp of 8cSt oil and a 10cSt oil when they're 1,000cSt at startup.
Then there's the gas. No way it's possible but you feel better knowing the tank is full. Fuel is at a set pressure no matter where the tank level is at. I do try and keep mine above 1/4 for emergencies and the fuel pump will live a longer life that way.

I have to admit the same thing. Also the same with the oil changes. But it's just psychological.

It's not a big deal. It uses the fuel both internal and external to cool the pump. Even with fuel flowing through it, when the pump becomes exposed it heats up a little. Sometimes the difference is major on some cars but I've never heard of a failure on the TL but it's still a good rule to follow.
