Car and driver info on tl WRONG Type-s???

I just picked up the new issue of car and driver 'new car issue/all car issue' on the tl in the sedan part, it says that tls are great cars with good performance but its performance increases with the type-s model which has high performance tires, a 6 sp manuel and brembo brakes along wit new rims. i think there is something rong here; type-s??? i dont think acuea has rebadged the a-spec addons as the type-s model.......

How many times has that Type-S stuff been printed?

My insurance company lady wanted to know if my new TL was 3.2 TL or 3.2 TL Type-S. She wouldnt listen when I tried to explain that there is no Type S TL from 2004 onwards. Finally she wrote it in as a 3.2 TL. I hope its better for the rates.

Actually, Acura calls the 6MT a Type-S, to distinguish it from the 5MT in the parts lists.
So if insurance companies or others ask if it is a Type-S, they are really asking if it is a 6MT, which I am sure has a different insurance rating. A good insurance company associate would know they could look in the VIN to tell if it was 5AT or 6MT, but with the number of car models they deal with, it is impossible for them to know all of this.

If you click here, fill in the Model, Year, and then click on the Door/Version box, you will see what I mean.
