Congrats on your own TL. Now when its time, drive that bad boy home and waive at the chicks that are breaking their necks looking at you in your new TL.

BTW, three sheets to the wind refers to drunkenness, not sleep. Have fun with the new car!

Thumbs up I'm back

The car is great. Delivery went real smooth. Saw some other WDP TL's at Montclair Acura that are slated for delivery to others on this forum and they looked super. Haven't got back to you guys sooner 'cause I been out drivin'. Put 300 miles on it yesterday, crusin' thru the catskills and got a wooping 29mpg traveling up the Taconic Pkwy at a reasonable 70 mph with the cruise control on. I don't know if it's just me but I did not experience any of the dreaded vibration....

OOoo, Nukeman. You should not set the cruise control so early on. You are still in your break in period and the cruise is a no no . Hope you enjoy your car. Just hold off until 600 to do it. Your motor will thank you for it.

Huh? I've never heard about not using cruise during break in... why is that? (And no, I dont have a TFM to R yet.)

It's stated in the owner's manual, which you don't have yet, that a new motor needs to be properly broken in by varying the road speed for the first 600miles. I believe it is to allow the piston rings to wear properly into the cylinder walls so that you will minimize oil consumption in the long run. Someone correct me if I am wrong.

OOOooo noooo the engine break-in topic. Someone lock the thread before its too late.... :toothless

Congrats, on your TL. Just enjoy, try to stay within recommended procedure in the manual but,,,, quoting one of the best engine builders ive ever known: "break em in like your going to drive em".

Good night

Thanks for the answer, that makes sense I guess. I'm not sure i'll use the cruise control for awhile anyway, I got manual specificaly because I wanted some control!
