Which Manufacturer has the closest OEM paint comparable to Candy Blue? Gonna order some paint for a custom project and they only premix OEM colors, so need a paint code.

One of my favourite blue is VBP.
It's an RSX colour.

 

I would like to see either of those on the TL and compare it to KBP

Here is Electron Blue on my previous 2003 Corvette Z06. It kind of looks like candy that you can eat, I guess lol. I didnt have a side by side comparison, but I always thought this car was VERY close to Kinetic Blue Pearl that I have on my 07 Type S.

Ive seen this one before and its a very rich type blue... "what I consider candy".

Its Toyota's Nautical Blue Metallic. Gives a very nice rich blue. If I had to go with another blue, it would be this one.

Just an FYI, the term "candy" is a term derived from the appearance of House of Kolor's Kandy line of paints, which use a unique process, different than that of OEM paints.

A typical candy paint job starts with a base coat of very fine metallic silver paint (it almost looks like chrome on the car). This is followed up by a transparent color coat, and then clear.

No OEM manufacturers use candy paint because it's expensive, time intensive, difficult to get consistent color match with, and has longevity issues.

IMO it's nowhere near as striking as candy red:


As for OEM colors that mimic the candy look, none of them really do IMO.
