Canadian noob needs to know how many piggy banks to break~

Hello everyone,

I am ready to purchase 04 Tl auto w/o Navi and wondering how much room I can move around the MSRP in Canada. Live in Vancouver if that helps as well.

As for the EL42 tire issue, does anyone know after which s/n that TLs get the new formulated EL42? The States' s/n is a bit diff than Cdn's so I have no clue as most car on the dealership is around xxx3400 for Cdn s/n.

Tia.

the best I could come up with was 800 dollars above cost.........try carcostcanada.com...for about 30 bucks you can get the dealer cost and they may even have a dealer with whom they have negotiated a lowest price in your area. They had one in toronto for the above quote which I then used as leverage against the dealership that I finally bought from.

I got about a $1000 off at Burrard Acura. But that was back in December when it was tough to get them. You should be able to get a better deal now that there's more out there. Mine had the A-Spec body kit and lip spolier. My sales guy was Patrick Yu. I think the body cost an extra $2500.

People seem hesitant to reveal actual price paid in Canada (not sure why). Everyone talks about 'how much they got off'.

Y26, I picked mine up about a month ago (bought it in Calgary but it was actually shipped from the Richmond Acura dealership which is the largest and oldest Acura dealership in Canada). I paid $45,800 all in (taxes, delivery, etc) for the Dynamic package (6MT, Brembo brakes, beefed-up suspension, summer performance tires - RE030s). Remember, no PST in Alberta. I added, all-weather mats, wing spoiler, lock nuts and 3M coating on front bumper, hood and back of mirrors.....included in that price. Hope that helps.

No Navi. Can't imagine needing it in Calgary - easy city to get around.

As for PST...........nope, no PST on anything in Alberta.

Alberta here too. SSM 6MT Dynamic Package.
Love the no PST tax here.

We had some snow last week so I still don't have my summer tires on. Can't wait to have them installed.... haven't driven with the summers yet and looking forward to it. Bought the winter tires separate.

My price was $43000
Included mats, wheel locks, mud guards, freight/pdi, block heater and everything except tax.

Cheers!
Charles

Yap... Donno why.

Anyway, I ordered my today and will be picking it up on Monday for $40,000 everything in plus 14.5% tax here in Vancouver. Basic auto DWP

Confirm the tires are EL42 and was made in apr 04. Crossing my fingers that flatspot problem won't act up.

Thx again for all the inputs and happy driving

Oops.. typo

Hey Van City guys.....since everyone's asking i paid $ 31k including taxes(14.5%) for mine.....and i did trade in my Chevy.....my TL has the A-Spec body kit including lip spoiler and 18" wheels with Michelin pilot sport a/s tires....no navi or dynamic....the price was around $ 46k but the only thing that mattered to me was the price difference between the TL and my trade in....like i said excellent excellent sales experience from North Shore Acura......

Dori.....i was at North Shore today around noon.....congrats on your new car !....maybe i will see you at the next owners clinic on Wednesday ?

DC5.....i was just asking about that on saturday.....North Shore tells me that the suspension kit which includes springs and shocks and lowers the car about 15mm is only available with the dynamic package.....does not make sense i think.....why not with the auto ?.....they said they will call and find out more info from Acura Canada....

Are these the springs in the Dynamic Package?

Or are these the springs from the A Spec?

In the US the A-Spec package comes with specific springs and shocks for a more aggressively tuned suspension and the ride height is lowered by 15mm.....these springs and shocks are available to us up here in Canada but only for the dynamic TL not the auto TL......but i will find out more from Acura Canada.....

New car is home~

Hello everyone,

Thx for the input and the newly wedded just came home not long ago. I bought mine from N. Shore Acura and they even send an nice guy to pick me up from home.

Drove it around the city and love it!! The only downside is... The gas $ went up to 99.9 cents/L for 87 grade and it is gonna hurt next time I go out to fill the sucker.

Happy driving guys/gals!!

Anyone want to buy some spare oem filters together in GVRD area cuz only 2 free oil change.

Which octane gas do you Canadian guys recommend? The service guy told me 94 but I think thats a bit too high. A little more price sensitive now that gas is now at 99.9/L

A little off topic, do any of the Cdn Tlers have a backup sensor installed either by the dealer or aftermarket? If you do, mind sharing how much it costs and whether its worth it.

Thanks in advance

Wow... thx for the reply Cdn04TL!
Somehow I just got the auto notify email from this site now~

Hopefully everyone had fun in their long weekend.

One more Q for ppl in Canada....

What is the mileages that you are getting for a full tank and what grade of gas do you use? I haven't filled up yet so I can't post my data but will do later on.

Plan to use Chevron 94~

I have a 6spd-manual, and although I never run the tank dry, I am getting about 12.5L/100Km. I use 91, but that's about the best we get around here... and now that premium is around $1.05, it definitally hurts to fill up...

94 isn't needed....
I use 92 Chevron.. when regular's like 93.9, the 92 octane is $1.039
