It's doubtful that intake gave you 15-20hp over stock. Just sayine

I hope you mean Crank HP. If its wheel hp * *

But yeah the TL has very nice top end. If it had I-Vtec that would be boss.

No way you get even 20 crank HP from a CAI. You pushing like 265 MAX.

intakes are shiny and look/sound cool. but they aren't going to do very much for you. your TL comes with a cold air intake stock. it just doesn't say AEM/INJEN/K&N and doesn't go "vroom vroom" when you slam it.

a lot of races depend on who's behind the wheel.

Your 06 TL has 258 hp at the crank. Subtract at least 15% due to FWD. Your cold air intake adds no hp, all it does is make noise IMHO. There is a huge difference between HP at the crank vs at the wheel. Google that for more information. Also, it's "VTEC" not "VTECH"

First off you have no where close to 285-290 HP espically from just an intake and second the VQ engine espically the 3.5 in the se-r compared to our j series is much better in terms of performance and potential.

i dont' know about the VQ engines i think they're overrated. Drove my buddies 03 3.5L 6MT maxima the other day and it felt slow compared to my car, low and top end.

VQ>VTEC the torque in the VQ is just always there when you need it. the VTEC esp in my TL feels like it has nothing on the lower end

06 TL was rated at 258hp from the factory, unless you are calling a comptech supercharger an AEM intake you aren't even making 270hp.

SE-R Altimas are 14 second cars, the TL isnt going to touch that. Obviously the SE-R had issues or the driver had issues.

Umm, TL's are 14 second cars too. There are bone stock 5AT's running high 14's to low 15's and of course, the 6MT's are low 14 second cars. OP never even mentioned what tranny he has.

One time thing lol...any 6mt 3rd gen is capable of at least 14flat at 100 with the right driver. Not too many TLs go to the strip...
