Can outside temperature measurment be calibrated?
Wondering if anyone knows how to adjust the reading of the outside temperature measurement? Mine seems to be consistently 3-4 degrees F off, always reads high.

if you do the following you can adjust by -3 -- +3:
1. turn key to ACC (engine off, electronics on)
2. hold down Select/Reset for 5-10 seconds
3. you can then scroll through -3 >> -2 >> -1 >> 0 >> 1 >> 2 >> 3 >> -3 [et al] using the Select/Reset key (I think)
Mine is off by up to 10 degrees so this doesn't help much. Delaer didn't do sh it.

My stupid dealer did the adjustment on my 04TL months ago. They claimed they lowered it 4 degrees by their PGM system. (I don't know if they really did.)
But, after I recalibrated -3 by holding the button, right now my temp is quite accurate so far, it's about +/- 2 degrees.

Same Problem With Avalons
I have had similar problems with my 2000 Avalon but never thought of asking the dealer to recalibrate. In my car I felt that both the interior temperature control and the exterior temperature reading were 3 degrees Centigrade higher than the actual tempurature. I actually checked the internal temperature with a digital thermometer and adjusting the auto climate control accordingly. Does anyone know if there is one adjustment or two for outside and interior temperatures?

According to my dealer, there is in fact a way to calibrate the interior one as well. The procedure described earlier in this post does in fact work as I've used it myself.

Thanks Lindros2
Thanks for the instructions... this worked, after adjusting -3, my reading is now right on, at least with my home outside thermometer.
