Can the MID get stuck?
I have been cruising around for awhile now and the MID has not budged from 40% oil life. I'll bet it has been at 40% for at least 1000 miles - is that normal?

When I first got my TL, my MID stayed the same for a while also. It all depends on your driving style. How many miles do you have now? Is it mostly highway or city driving?

I forgot to mention that my MID was at 40% for a while also.

Well, if you're getting upwards of 8000 miles between oil changes, then the MID should only drop down 10% every 800 miles or so. That's what I've been experiencing so far. Sounds normal to me.

about 6500 miles - 80-90% HWY

I must admit tho - I was one of those guys who pulled the trigger with an early oil change. I have about 5000 miles on the new oil.

Unless you reset the MID, it doesn't know or care that you got an early oil change.
