Can the fog lights be wired to come on with out the headlights?
I've searched..couldn't find a thread that really stated if if could be done by a simple wire tap.

I've searched for it to and was unsuccessful. I ended up unplugging the stock wires from the bulbs and running my own circuit. I disconnected my DRL and use the fogs for DRLs most of the time.

MDX's can do it. Pisses me off (just a little - envy I guess) everytime I see one with Fogs only on.
There was, I thouht, a long thread on doing this. Not sure if a good solution was found where all the various light up options worked and not dummy lights got thrown.

you cant on the tl it's tied into the f-can n b-can so you cant feed signals down the line because the computer knows the circuit is off. something would blow for sure unless u added a separate switch thats signaled as "on" when the parking lights are turned on and then u press the button that activates a relay to turn them on. personally i just put a switch in because im using hids

i wired mine to a separate switch panel i made for all the lil extras in the car ( train horn compressor, amps, train horn pressure valve release and 2 sets of hids) the one thing you can do is tap into the signal wire that tells the computer the parking lights are on from the accord fog switch to activate....then u can turn them on without the headlights but the parking lights have to be on....another option is to connect the switch to a 12volt accessory somewhere under the dash.

cos he just re-routes the fogs 12v power to any ignition on and apparently he can use the fogs like they are independent and control it with the OEM fog/auto/hi/lo stalk all independently.
Anyone care to look up the service manual wiring diagrams for this?

yes you can do it on the tl as well. all depends on how knowlegable you are. I know I am not in spelling......
any way. it is 12 volts so it is quite easy.
No reason to rewrite this. so I will just post links.
by the way you could use the factory switch just need to take the column apart to get to the wires.

so hope this helps a little, as far "f-can n b-can" it will not effect it.

I've done this the hard way. I was probing around without my manual and blew an internal circuit within the drivers side fuse box. What I ended up doing was tapping directly out of the combination switch (fog switch output) before the steering control module to run my own relay circuit to the fogs. Leave the fog lamp signal wire from the combination switch connected so you will still get the fog lamp indicator lamp from the cluster. (note the fog lamp indicator in the cluster will only display with the parking/headlights are switched on [fog lamps will still work without parking/headlights, you just wont get the indicator without the parking/headlight circuit on]) If you have a manual you will see that the combination fog switch operates the ground leg of the fog lamp signal circuit. This can be used as a ground side for an additional relay circuit for switching fogs without the headlights. Remember to run a new power to the relay from a main battery source for the fog lights. Also to run the positive switching/signal side of your additional relay from a switched power (ignition on) circuit so your fogs will switch off when the key is removed.
