Can it be done?

So i'm in the midst of replacing my front bumper (2006) due to some damage and was thinking of getting a 2008 bumper rather than a replacement, but i'm still on the fence of deciding weather the 2008 a-spec looks better or the 2006 a-spec. anyways, if i were to do this, would it be a simple swap? i know 07+ have lower fogs which i dont want to go through the hassle of hooking up, so could i just put the bumper on without messing with the headlights?

on a side note does anybody know a good paint shop to get a bumper painted in SE michigan?

side, side note: are the 2008 and 2006 a-spec side skirts, rear bumper interchangeable? i remember reading somewhere that they were. just double-checking

Don't do it. 3G TL A-Spec >>> "3.5G" TL A-Spec

for front:
07-08 base TL a-spec > 07-08 type s a-spec =04-06 TL a-spec

for rear:
07-08 type s a-spec >>>>>>(much much greater than) 04-08 base TL a-spec

this is coming from a type s owner!!!

Bumpers are direct fit but you need the bigger grill and possibly fogs to fill in the holes.

regardless type s or base, u will need to get a 07-08 grille as well. the 04-06 grille will not fit, its smaller. Fogs will run you about another $200 on ebay (depo)

there's the pic i was looking for. the 2008 definitely looks a lot cleaner, but for new grill+fogs i dont think it's worth it.

Honestly, if it wasnt for the wreck i was in that damaged my bumper. I still like the 04-06 a little more than the 07-08. I decided to go that route because i wanted to be different in my area.

It seems that bumpers are direct fit; thats easy enough. But is everything behind the bumper the same? i.e. the bumper support, absorbers, etc?

So all I would need is an 08 bumper, fogs, all three grills, and.....what else?

Probably for the 8th time, (realistically), yes it can be done, front and rear.

Publicizing your opinion and telling people that it is a fact is the dumbest thing i've ever seen.
