Can dirty window guides scratch my tint?
Hey,
I got my tint last week (Sunday) and havn't rolled down my windows for a week, and still going.
I had to replace my door driver door lock actuator just yesterday and while I was replacing it, I removed my window channel guide and it was dirty, rough, and brownish.
Do you think that if I were to roll down my windows, it would scratch my tint up?
I do have moleskin, but I'm talking about the window guide channels in the door panel.
I do have Formula 1 tint and lifetime warranty, so if it does get scratched up, wouldn't it be replaced for free?
I'd be innnocent pretty much wouldn't I? Allowing more than enough time for the tint to dry before rolling down the windows, and had the shop install moleskin.
Should be scratch proof right?
Or should I quit being a bitch and just remove all the door panels, remove the door channel guides, and just wipe them down with a rag?
Your thoughts? Ever have your tint scratched by the window channels?
Thanks

you do have a garage?? yes?? snap to it. my installer pulled mine out without taking the door panel off. lifted the top up that was it. or are you afraid of the friends you might find under your hood??

I guess the ones I'm talking about are the lower ones.
And yes I'll admit: I'm worried to find some furry friends under my hood every time I open it now.

The moleskin issue was the only thing I was told about when I had my tint done, which you have already taken care of. Other than that, I was not told about any other issues occurring with scratching the tint. I have had numerous cars done by the same place and have never had an issue with tint being scratched by any other part or mechanism within the door no matter how many times I rolled the windows up or down. I'm sure it wouldn't hurt to do some cleaning if you feel the need to, but I think you'll be fine.

I hear the only thing that scratches is moleskin too, but my car's an 04 in bad shape (there's slight rust INSIDE my door panel), so it's probably best I take a day to remove the channels and clean them.
Shouldn't take too long anywho.
I never knew door panels were so easy to remove lol
I can probably do it in a parking lot

I have scratch lines along all 4 windows from dust or something inside the guides (I've had tint for about 2 years now); probably a good idea to clean it up real quick if you don't want to see the scratches. However, they're only visible from the inside, if that makes any difference to you
