THE Call!!

I just got THE CALL from the dealer. My Anthracite/Ebony/AT/Nav is in the back lot all wrapped up waiting for me. I now have a home for my two bluetooth enabled cell phones and one DVD-A disc. The car will be unwrapped tomorrow, windows tinted (after all this is the desert) and ready to take home tomorrow evening. I'm going over there tonight and lick it. VIN number ends in 15924. Yay!!

Very nice! This means that my car should be at the dealer very soon, I've got the same color combo and the VIN# is 15926

That should mean my VIN is about the same when I get it. I'll keep you all posted.

Gotsand, which dealer did you purchase from? Did they give you a fair deal?

Okay this is bogus... I called Stevens Creek up and asked when my car was arriving and what the VIN was and they said they did not have that information!

How can that be? It's been built and shipped!

lore,

have them check their transit report, they can give you an idea where the vehicle is and a rough idea when the vehicle comes off the truck give a few day cushion.

I asked them, and he says there's no way for him to tell until he receives the next manifest. How bogus.

He seemed kind of not so happy to be talking to me... ah well.

that is pure bogus, the minute a vehicle is built and a VIN assigned, the dealership receives a transit report stating what color, entire VIN, build date, expected delivery date and what port. I check this report on all my orders for my clients then I call them with follow-ups to let them know when they can expect their cars to come in, this report is for all cars not just TL's.

sorry to say it but it sounds like your dealer is stalling for some reason

tell me what you have ordered and I will check to see when the expected arrival date is for your vehicle. (what color int/ext and model)

You're a class act, Terp. I'll add you to the rather short list......

Thanks for helping out Lore.

I am in somewhat of the same situation as LORE. Any chance you could look up this information for me as well?

I PM'd you my information. Thanks!

Thanks terps89.. I sent you a Private Message with that info.

I don't know if he's just stalling or being lazy.. who knows! Unless the vehicle wasn't built yet! (it was scheduled for build date of 11/30-12/03 I think)

Don't want to alarm you, Lore, but those were my build dates and it was delayed until Jan 3-7. Although mine was WDP

My dealer is Bell Acura in Phoenix. I went over there after work to "lick the door handles" and put my mark on it, so to speak. It was inside on the lift, still wrapped, but a tech was preping it. Anthracite is one cool color, even wrapped. The Ebony interior was shrouded in plastic, but even that looked great. I took a few shots with my cell phone camera but it was dark in there and they didn't come out too well. I walked all around that sucker and the tech lifted it so I could walk around underneath it. I didn't lick it there but that may be the only time I'll see the bottom unless I get stupid and roll it. He showed me a lot of stuff like the extra sound baffles in the wheel wells for a quiet ride and some aluminum stuff to reduce the weight. I'm not a real technical guy. We will iron out the final details tomorrow concerning the trade-in of our Honda Civic -- I was quoted a MSRP of $33195 minus $500 on a non-nav when we first talked in October and a fair payoff for the Civic (I'm upside down on that car). I'm working with the sales manager directly and he has been very up front with me. There was some delay in getting a firm delivery date and even a firm confirmation on the build date. That may have been due to the confusion at the factory about all the navs and non-navs and their forecast. So they will send it out for a tint job tomorrow and I hope to sign my life away tomorrow night after work. MikeRadio: I love it already and it hasn't even been shined up yet. BTW there were several TLs in the back lot some with nav. I saw two NBP and one white.

Just got the call too!!!

I ordered the car last week, December 3rd to be exact. I was looking for a Silver, ebony, nav, auto 04 TL. I called the dealer and spoke to the internet manager. Told him what i was looking for and asked him if he had any available. He put me on hold and told me he had one coming in about 2 weeks max.

I asked him the price, he gave me the msrp. I told him that was too much. He said if i was looking to negotiate, i should come in to the dealer. I told him i was comfortable doing it over the phone. Told him I wanted 1500 off msrp. He put me on hold again. He said "if i give you 1500 off, are you willing to give me your deposit through a credit card right now?" I told him i would go to the dealer later that same day.

Went in, was given a vin number, built on Dec 1st, was told it had an arrival eta of dec 10th. He stuck to the deal he offered over the phone (tried giving me 1000 off first acting like he forgot), and I left a deposit.

Today I got a call from the dealer saying the car was in, i have to go in to setup a date for delivery, to look at the car to make sure its the one i want , and some other stuff.

Nice and easy process, lets hope nothing bad happens now!

The only accessories were wheel locks. Unfortunately, I didn't know that the car didn't come with mud guards, otherwise I would've made him throw that in. But I'm still hoping that he throws them in.
I should have a better idea later on today when i go see the car.

As far as other accessories, I really wasn't interested in anything else (tint, all-weather mats, etc).

This is my first time getting an Acura, all my previous cars have been Lexus. Over at Lexus thier service department would throw in any accessories I wanted at the time I picked up my cars (because they want you to come to them for service). I'm hoping Acura does the same =)

Either way, that's still a phenomenal price. I am going to see if the service department will throw in some stuff for me -- they would be the ones installing the accessories anyway, right?
