California Dash Duster: My Full Review - Long - 56k Warning

Boy, that California Dash Duster is really good at getting up all that dust from my dash.

I recommend it. Highly.

Humor, dammit! It's humor!

(BJ, I'm starting to sound like your PR man, or maybe your agent. "He's funny, dammit!")

Thanks Gator......I don't know what it is with this TL crowd. I subscribe to four or five forums and I have won several meaningful (yet unofficial) awards for my surprisingly charming wit.

Get the friggin' duster Mr. AcuraTLjaTT559. You won't be sorry.

Look, you want the duster or what? Leave the poor thing alone. It lives for you to swift it over your dash yet lives the majority of its life in your trunk. Show it some respect Mr. AcuraTLjaTT559. It did you no harm.

Again you visually attack our friend, the California Dash Duster. That's what you get for buying a quartz car with a quartz interior. Please post pics of your quartz tires and quartz tint.

Yes, I think it works well. I have been dusting the car 1/2 way through the week. Takes about a minute and looks just washed. A few folks in this forum have reported concern over scratches - but I haven't seen any. It's $10 at Walmart - worth a try IMHO.

i use a duster for the exterior as well. it works great, when there is loose dirt on top of the car i can pick it up with the duster. be very careful not to drag the duster too much cause it might(very unlikely) drag debree across the surface and cause some scratching. i usually vibrate the duster over a section letting the static action do its thing. it works great for picking up buffed off wax that sticks to you car.

You can get the "kit" which includes the California water blade, the mini duster, the big duster, some cloths, and the wash mitt for $37 at Costco.com. I just bought mine yesterday.

i dun use the california waterblade anymore. if a debree gets caught between the blade and the car, it will scratch that bad boy right up. when used properly it is great and saves alot of time. but i have read too many horror stories and i no longer use this tool, except for the windows.

yes and it does work, but if you have a dark car you may experience some streaking. I couldn't figure out what was causing the streaking, if it was the stock duster, or some chemicals the duster picked up (i.e. Tire Wet)

The streaking is from the wax that is on the duster itself...it is this wax that picks up the dust, but when it gets warm, it spreads a lot. Thats why you have to allow the unit to cure on some newspaper for a while...it allows some of the extra wax to work its way off the duster

I have NBP, do you think it will streak alot or not? Is it worth getting the duster and have all the streak marks or is it better to have the car dusty and not the steak marks....?

Basically should I buy it???

Narmeen, I've NBP and am using duster since I bought. I've not noticed any streak marks. I use it every morning before I take the baby out of the garage. If I see any other stuff (bird, tree droppings etc.) on the car except for dust, I DO NOT use the duster and wash it ASAP. I also keep the duster on the newspaper as they recommend.

I use the duster also but, sometimes if you wipe down along the lower part of the side of the car, it just pushes the road dust into a pile where you stopped

In Canada....

I picked up my California Duster at Canadian Tire up here in the Great White North. They had both the full size "exterior" duster, as well as the little "dash duster". I'm not too comfortable "dry brushing" my exterior, but the little one works great for the interior- very fast and effective, which suits me fine.
