I had AEM V2 CAI on a 200 civic si before getting my TL. Got the intake when it first came out, paperwork said CARB pending. When I went to smog it, smog shop just had to do some "research" (called AEM ffor the CARB #). Passed with flying colors. Of course I had plan B which was reinstall the stock intake. CARB approval is worth paying the extra money IMHO to a reputable manufacturer like AEM or INJEN.

It's my understanding that on newer cars, it can take up to 5 years before a smog test is required. By then, the CARB requirements should be met.

Go Big is correct. In my case the smog was required because I was selling the car to help pay for the TL.
