Complaining about torque steer isn't new. All the car rags used to ***** about the last gen Saab 9-3 and Volvo T5 for the same reason. In comparison tests, both cars always lost points because of their torque steer.

What did the letters to the editor say? I would think that they would say the torque steer isn't significant because the C&D review says it is.

I just caught the TL review on C&D TV on Spike over the weekend and they started *****ing about the FWD practically on the first sentence. If I was going to race the car, I might be concerned but since I'm not who cares. Just remember - they drive the car for a few hours at full tilt and form an opinion. We live with the car for years and most of that time we're not flogging it.

one guy agreed, and another pointed out consumer reports' comparison test in which the TL beat the 330i and they didn't complain about any torque steer. C/D responded by saying they were willing to bet CR didn't drive the car very hard and pointed out that it was an automatic they tested, and that C/D found less torque steer on the auto and the problem is with the 6sp.
