Talking Bye-Bye TL

Well, today I've traded in my 05 A-Spec TL for an '06 Mercedes CLK-350. Lease payment went up by a $150/mo. but I got a shorter lease term.

Sorry guys, as I've betrayed you... but then again, you only live once. And maybe it's my mid-life crisis (at 26y.o.), making my life estimate at 52

It was a pleasure for that whole year and the 20K miles I've put on the Acura beast.

How much would my lease payment go up, if I trade in my TL 5ATnoNav for a M35 RWD with only leather and HID?

Seriously considering. Please help.

Does that mean you would leave us and go critique the M35 people?

I am not critiquing any particular group of people. I critique car problems, never attacked a single person, and am only against the blind enthusiam.

You said "We are not here to push TL over other cars", that's the attitude that I would respect, but some people are making this forum a Nazi-like atmosphere----you can say nothing except "Heil--Acura!"

It wouldn't make sense for this forum to exist if all the posts are expressing passions for TL other than technical discussions, right?

this forum would exist just fine without you..

whose making it nazi like......me?

Im just sick and tired of your complaining. It gets old when someone has nothing good to say anymore, but I like the way you put it as a technical discussion...

I've got a straight pay off for the TL (even through the windshield needs to be replaced)...

on CLK350:

$3,000 total at signing (including first payment, taxes, etc.), $610/month for 39 months and 10K miles a year.

CLK is Black on Stone (light beige, almost white), Navigation, Satellite radio (1 year free), Bi-Xenon package, Harman-Kardon stereo with 6 disk changer, iPod link with free iPod mini, Full wood package, including the steering wheel. Sticker price was $54,994, got it for $49,340.

Funny thing is that I tried to get a used RL fro $46,000 and the dealer couldn't bring the payment down lower then $650 on a 48 month lease. So, I guess it's good that Mercedes has higher risidual value

you're probably married and have too much on your plate.

Me, on the other hand... single (even though engaged), bought a house, have 1 credit card, and one car payment to pay... why not get something I like

Not really sure what you're calling the lower level.

Lower level MB is the one that has leather as an option. CLK is well above the C or E class

I should have rephrased.

500 model or higher. In reality I'd never own a Benz if it werent an AMG.

That's my take. I find the lower models to be uninspiring.

None the less, the 350 will be a much better performer than the 320 they used to put out.

FYI the CLK class is not above the E class. Sorry.

tell us a lil more about the clk 350 compared to the TL. I am also considering the clk for my next car. my 05 rl was just totaled (storm flood) and now looking into maybe another RL, TL, clk 350 or bmw 530.

IMHO the CLK is a bit ghey...I never was a BMW fan till I got one, and now not sure I will ever leave the brand. If I were you, would consider the BMW550 if you can swing it. If you can only get the 530, they are a bit underpowered, and I would save some $$ and get the TL.
