buying a used cpo salvage title

I sincerely doubt there is such a thing for Acura. CPO & Salvage do not go in the same sentence together. I could be wrong. Got a link for the car you are looking for?

It may have been a CPO BEFORE whatever happened to make it a salvage title.
IMHO, not a good idea unless you REALLY know your shit when it comes to inspecting a used car. Even then, be prepared for unexpected problems.

ok, I looked at the carfax. There is a major accident reported but the vehicle is not listed as a salvage? I also dont see where they are selling it as a CPO?

I'd have it very carefully inspected. AND I'd order the accident report. AND I'd tell the dealer you want a CPO warranty. AND I'd make sure the price is right (i.e. can you find the same car with NO major accident at the same or lower price).

typically if the front airbags deployed- the cost leads the insurance to `Total` the car and make its title `Salvage`- good for parts or can be rebuilt but carries the salvage title with WAY reduced value
At that point the car maker is advised and makes a change in the computer- you are still able to get recall safety items replaced free but most any warranty is long gone
It may take time to get updated- everyone has cut employees
cars that were stolen and recovered after 30 days often get salvage title but can still be good cars
car salesmen talk in coded language you are not privvy too- may as well sell houses~

I would pay the $7.50 to get the accident report so you can see exactly what happened in the accident.
Now that I think about it though, I would probably stay away from this car since it was probably traded in for a reason. The previous owner did not want it after the accident! Well that is- assuming it was traded in, regardless the dealership probably paid like 10k for the car since it has this accident on the carfax and they are trying to sell it for $23k=craziness!

here is a weird story, my friend bought a 2004 honda accord coupe ex, salvage, he made all the repair since it was damage on the side. When he check with the dealer they said that he had 2 year warranty left (ofcourse he never told them that it was a salvage vehicle). All the repair needed were done in the the dealer. after the warranty expired he sold the car.
Salvage title hold the value great if you a selling it has a private owner.
i bought a 2003 RSX type S salvage in 2002. The car only had 1200k (totally new ) for $4000 in an auction. The damage was front end but was only bumpers and radiator support with deploid airbags. i expend $5000 to fix so in total was $9k for the car. i got into a big accident a month later, car wreck and my insurance paid me $20k with the salvage title.

I didn't see where it said it was CPO... also I would walk on that one. The TL is not a rare car and a quality CPO with a clean title with no accidents shouldn't be hard to find... I traded my last car in after an accident where there was less than $8000 in damage on a two year old car... Within the month that I got the car back the tranny went south, the cd and nav unit failed, the car got an exhaust leak and then the last straw was a gas leak... I traded to the Acura dealer with all the info that I had on the car, and after the car went to auction they found frame damage that wasn't reported by the insurance or the body shop... I would always stay away from any used car with an accident history... With all the people that do short term leases these days, its pretty easy to find a quality, clean well maintained car out there... Keep looking
