Buying Used: '07 Type S

Hey all, I'm looking at a 2007 Tl Type S, kinetic blue w/ auto transmission it's got 90k miles.

Being new to the Acura game I figure I'd ask you guys what I should look for, be aware of for needed/upcoming maintenance.

It's going to be my daily, replacing a 335i coupe. I'm handy and can do most maintenance and what not in my own garage as long as parts are easily available.

So I ask you, what should I look out for?

Thanks in advance,

Kacy

The 105K maintenance is coming up. This involves the timing belt and water pump.

Joey, you cannot list cars for sale here. We have a Black Market, which is where you can post pictures and pricing of your TL for sale.

Cheers.

So what I'm gathering from lack of response is that I should worry too much about turning this car into my daily/commuter? I'll prob do fluid flushes when I buy the car as it's an automatic and I haven't had the car. Is there an issue with the automatics (weak,etc..) or should I worry about wheel bearings and things of that nature? Also excessive squeaks/rattles to listen for in the interior/exterior?

Thanks guys.

You may want to check to see how it shifts between gears. If it's not shifting correctly, you can follow this thread https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-2004-2008-93/110-b-diy-guide-replacing-3rd-4th-gear-pressure-switch-3g-tl-2007-2008-a-840630/ to change out the 3rd & 4th pressure switch.

This is another thread for you to follow if you hear a whine coming from the the engine due to the power steering o-ring needing to be replaced. https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-problems-fixes-114/diy-105-power-steering-whine-fix-754586/

There's also another thread on how to do the 3x3 transmission flush since your car has a higher mileage. Just follow the MID (Multi-Informational Display) that'll tell you when you'll need to change your oil and other maintenance for the car. There are numerous threads on conventional vs synthetic as well. The choice is yours.

Yes, you may want to do an oil change and air filters. Expecially the cabin filter.

Thanks for the input guys. I just carfaxed and it and it's been in 2 accidents. Front right and straight on rear from what I can tell. Doesn't say the severity of them. It's price at $15,800 so I'm unsure.

I'd move on. There are tons of TL-S out there that haven't been in accidents. If you're still determined, I'd suggest a thorough test drive and/or let a trusted mechanic look at the underlying issues.

2 accidents? And those are the reported one's. Hmmm I'd think really hard on this one. Don't jump into the first car you see.

2 accidents, I'd pass or take your time and think about it at the very least.

I'd pass... Looked at several before I settled on mine. I think it's worth paying a little more for an accident free one.

I've got him getting it checked over at the acura dealership here. Then I'll go over it tonight and get a test drive. We'll see...

Yikes, if I were in your shoes, I'd pass. I don't know what your budget is but I got an 07 TL-S with 28k miles for 24k. Best of luck on your search!

I agree. 2 known accidents. Walk away. There will always be more cars. But you only have x amount of moneys. Make them count.

i have been looking for a TL-S especially for a KBP with black interior but I find one that involved in wreck twice and I told myself that nope I am not going to buy the car. I am sure there are plenty of TL-S out there that accident free.
