Buying TL in Florida, not a pricing question

Hi guys,

I'm currently working out a deal with a dealership in Florida. However, they do not ship vehicles and since I'm in Arizona I would need it shipped. Have any of you had experience with shipping companies and if so which ones did the best job and had the best value? Thanks for you help.

The Arizona dealer said he would not give it to me below $37000 out the door. That is not even close to a good deal. Florida dealers are giving around $35000 out the door.

shipping is going to set you back about $900. You probably have pay sale tax and registration fee, not to mention smog test. Add them all up and you may have a good deal at all.

A dealer told me that it could cost anywhere from 100-500 to ship a car just around florida, $900 seems a bit low considering the car would go all the way to arizona, especially with the high gas prices.

Check Albequerque, NM Acura dealer. Small city -- might give you a better deal than AZ and a LOT closer. I'd offer to hook you up, but I don't have a single TL in stock.

The "out the door" figure can be off considerably for an out of state car. This is because "out the door" in a dealership that is not in your own state does NOT include any state sales taxes. On a car of this price that's probably about $1,000. When you register the car in AZ, your THEN going to be hit with those fees. If shipping is $500 to $900, your not REALLY saving anything buying it from Florida...A dealership can ship a car nearly anywhere in the country for around $500 guys. Although I don't have the details as to who exactly does this, it's pretty common on some of the high line cars. Why don't you try contacting the highline dealers (BMW, Mercedes, Jag, Porsche, Ferrari, etc) and ask who they use.

Well the last time I checked, dealers in any state include taxes in their out the door price. I know I can get the vehicle shipped for around $900, I was just wondering if I can get a better deal than that. You guys are right though that I would have to pay registration in Arizona but I would have to do that anyways. The $35000 figure is what I believe I can get, however, I'd like to get it lower than that. My point of view was that I'm bringing the dealer business he wouldn't normally get, so even if he doesn't profit from me as much, I'm still adding to his volume.

I looked at the website of what seemed to be the only Acura dealership in New Mexico, and it seemed like they only sold used cars. Am I wrong?

Call dayton diaz at Rick case Acura (#1 acura dealer in the world...#1 at something) they had the largest inventory around when I checked. They're in south florida and hes done a bunch of shipped acuras to other states. I happen to live here and got a great deal from him. But there are others on the board who have gotten good deals shipped to them too.

Long time no see Majorhouse.

Red,

I also got my TL from Dave Kalish, and you will not find a more straight forward and honest guy. Being the internet sales manager, he can quote over the phone and you can take the price and terms to the bank. He can be reached via their toll free number at 1 800) 881-1118, then ask for Acura sales.

Good Luck

I've actually been dealing with Dave Kalish at Rick Case Acura. After few days of negotiations he told me that he won't be getting any blue/quartz TL's in. So, I could probably get the price I want from him but I'd like to pursue a car with those colors first. I found one with my exact specs at Orange Park but the only problem is it has a wing spoiler. So not only will I have to pay an extra $500 but also will have to get a car with a wing spoiler which from the pictures I've seen seems to disrupt the flow of the car's lines. Do you guys have pics of the abyss blue TL with wing spoiler? What do you think of wing spoilers on this car?
