Buying a TL
Buying a TL
Hello there, I'm 17, and am new here and am interested in buying a TL + modding it over time. I'm no car expert at all but am interested in learning more about them and wanna have a sweet ride. I'm more interested in looks than performance which is why I wanna go with a TL; good ratio of both
I have yet to purchase a TL but have been looking around for ones that fit my tastes. I found one car that fits perfectly with what I want: 2004 TL, black on black, manual transmission (first manual TL I've seen while searching) 35k miles for 17.5k.
A buddy hooked me up with a Carfax report and it turns out it was in an accident 2 years ago. The report doesn't give me any details on the accident other than it's not labeled as salvaged or anything. It's being sold as a "Acura Certified Pre-Owned Vehicle"
Any suggestions of what I should do? Like I said im not a car guy so how should I go about this? It's not every day you find a manual TL lol. From the info the carfax report has given me I'm assuming it was a "no biggy" accident that I can take advantage of to lower the price. I am, however, a car noob. Thanks.

welcome! yea it is kinda hard to find 6spd mt on TL's... and imo as long as its not salvaged and its a certified car its good to go... i dont know if 17.5k is a good price for it since i am also a car noob
but the 3rd gen TL IS a pretty damn sexy car... i would say... GO FOR IT

35K miles is great for an 04 which I believe is why the price is 17K instead of 15K.
If you can drive a manual then I would suggest a 6spd. you wont regret it especially if you wanna mod later on.

Even though it's CPO and been in an accident, you should still bring it to your local mechanic and have it looked at. The accident may have been a fender bender but reported. Have your mechanic look at it, and if theres no red flags, go for it. Take it for a test drive and see how it compares against other TLs. Just my
. Good luck!
