Buying new TL need help

Ok, well after Infiniti is being forced to buy back my POS fx35, I need some advice with getting a new TL. I have searched of course, but there are so many different answers.

1. What price have people been paying in the michigan aread for a TL (with navi)?

2. I want to get the a-spec, how much should I try to get it for?

3. Tires, I know tires suck on the car - the a-spec of course comes with summer tires, and its almost winter, so I need either all season or flat out winter tires. I want the sporty feel. I had posted a while ago about getting the TL to drive like a BMW and the biggest thing was getting GOOD tires.

4. Could I tell the dealer that I want the car without the a-spec tires, take them my tires and have them install those to begin with? Should I be able to get the a-spec cheaper if they are not giving me tires?

5. The wheels, could I do the same, tell them I don't want the a-spec wheels, and bring them the ronjon wheels? I can't decide between the a-spec and the ronjon inspyre - so if you have a suggestion tell me :-D

6. I assume the dealer will insall the rear sway bar, so can I ask them to do it as part of the entire sale instead of going after? (seeing as how they are going to do the a-spec anyways)

7. Should I get the RL instead? (haha I wish)

8. With the a-spec do you get the old parts back? e.g. old steering wheel, old wheels and tires, anything else?

9. I have always been offered the paint protection stuff... never taken it, I assume it is just a big profit for the dealer and useless for myself?

10. Should I try to negotiate 2 details a year? How much should I expect to pay extra for this?

11. Just wondering, is there anything like onstar that is an aftermarket system?

12. Same for the "kelyess go" in the rl, or the "intelligent key" in the FX. anything like this aftermarket? I doubt it, but it would be nice to have.

13. Are there any other mods like the sway bar to help?

These are some things I wanted to get done, so if anybody has any reccomendations for places in the detroit area to have these done:

Tints (back windows only I think - I believe it is the law in michigan, sucks)
I saw a thread on the "blue" door sills like in the benz and bmw... that would be awesome
laser jammer (escort I believe)
aluminum pedals
finding a good bluetooth phone :-D

Any and all help is welcome! Thanks :-D

I'd help, but i have a CL-S, and if you can afford the Rl, why not?

1) price varies from dealer to dealer with west coast customers usually paying closer to msrp. i would say the average price being paid is mid to high 33K for TL with navi.

2)The apec kit is costing about 5K installed from the dealer. from what i a hearing you do not want the wheels which is a big chunk of the option. you can buy the body kit and suspension separate and have that installed. There is one dealer selling the kit for 829 on ebay and the suspension for 600. you can probably work a deal out with you dealer to get the body kit and suspension for much less than the 5K since you do not seem to want the wheels.

3)the a-spec wheels come with yokohamas which again if you do not want the wheels just don't get it from the dealer at all.

4)this would all depend on your dealer but i do not see why not.

5)same as above

6)most dealers will install sway bars but this is considered an aftermarket part. they will not be able to order it from the factory. if you are getting a 6MT then i would not get the sway bar since its only 2mm thicker. i assume you are talking about the comptech sway bar.

7)Difference car. more money but worth it if you are in the market for a larger touring sedan.

8)usually no if you decide to have it delivered with the a-spec package(i dunno why). but if you buy the parts afterwards they would probably give you the old parts back.

9)do not get the paint protection biggest rippoff.

10)do not get the detailing from them either they do more harm then good. rather just negotiate for oil changes or servicing.

11)no aftermarket onStar that i am aware of.

12)no aftermaret keyless entry either. i bet if you wait there will probably be more of these.

13)i assume you are talking about handling when you say "help". best thing you can do is get a good set of tires. better traction will do a world of wonder for you.

if you are looking for bluetooth phone check out the sub-forum for bluetooth plenty of info there.

3. Nokian WR's. I'm putting them on my TL in the next couple of weeks. They are snow rated tires that aren't noisy in dry conditions. I had Nokian's on my old car and they were fantastic. I tried using the Bridgestones in the snow last winter and theyu were awful.

7. New RL is definitely an awesome car. I'll consider it when my lease runs out.

9. Paint protection is worthless. Wax your car regularly, or better yet get Zaino polish- I'm a believer

10. Don't get detailing from a dealer. Find yourself a specialist if you aren't going to do it yourself.

I just the Motorola V710 through Verizon which has Bluetooth. Awesome phone. There was a problem with the camera, but it's been corrected.

So, if I got a deal at around $33,500 I should take it?

Paint protection - got it... waste of a grand... keep it and spend it on something useful :-D

I am getting the automatic - so the sway bar is worth the $110

greg: v710 I can't - I don't have verizon. I have ATT/Cingular unlimited anytime minutes for $85 a month, for the life of me I can't give it up! lol

Thanks for your answers... real helpful

vicrampatel I have Cingular too and just got the Sony Ericsson T637 phone which pairs very well with the TL bluetooth. The phone is only about $50 w/rebate. Go to Cingular website for details.
