Same thing you'd look for with any used car. You won't have a major tune up until 105,000 miles.

Look for stress marks under the hood and under the car.
I found a pristine WSP type S w/50k miles for $18k. The frame under the hood had stress marks from it being bent in a collision.
Test drive with the radio off.

Unless of course, IT IS a type S you are talking of.

Make sure it's got the appropriate 2008 parts on it...wheels, bumpers, headlights, taillights, things like that. People like to switch out parts and return to stock when selling. Just my opinion.

Paid only 4.5k more for my 6mt Type S with 4,900 miles last summer. Like others have said, that's too expensive IMO, but really you have to be the judge of that. If you love the car and its worth it to you then absolutely go for it!

i have same car and i would definately look under hood at the front end, to make sure it has not been wrecked but if it has, was it repaired with factory components. a car is still ok even if it has crashed as long as it was repaired correctly. my 2 cents we have an 08 type s, also i have a spare motor and tranny and cluster from another 08 type s i bought crashed for parts. need any help or insight give me a shout!!!!! goodluck

Just got home from the test drive, car drives nice but dealer won't let me take it to the freeway, paint looks good except for normal scratches for a 6 year old car, no dents at all, everthing looks original, tires are brand new but unknown brand, oil of engine and tranny looks fresh, every panel has the original sticker with the vin number, the inside could be better but with some detail will be Ok, passenger front seat leather has a small crack where you seat. Around here every 08 TL that I see with around 80k plus miles they go for $15000-$16000, I just saw one with only 34xxx miles for 19900.

That's a rip off price. For almost 19k I'd expect a near flawless vehicle.

What area are you in, anyway? Seems crazy expensive for that car.

I saw another one 40 miles away from my location black on black not my taste for $19900 with 34xxx miles, another one for $15900 with 83xxx miles, the rest all are with higher mileage.

For the same price you could get a type s at that mileage, Cali car price is ridiculous, may be you should start to looking out of state vehicle and get it ship back home, plenty people in the forum found their car that way.
