Buying a 2006 TL - Advice Requested

CARFAX Vehicle History Report for this 2006 ACURA 3.2 TL

CARFAX Vehicle History Report for this 2006 ACURA 3.2 TL

Hi all,
I have posted above two Carfax reports. I am hoping you guys can weigh in on what appears to be an apples to apples comparison here on two TL's in my area. My concern is what the Carfax is telling me about the maintenance on each vehicle (besides the good part which is that they both have been dealership maintained for the most part).

Since I have heard about the issues with transmission on these year models, is it better to purchase the car that has had the pump and hose replaced in the past, or does that mean possible additional problems down the road?

In comparison with the car with almost identical mileage but no mention of this transmission issue/work having been completed. Would that mean it will not be a problem since it's made it this long?

What are your thoughts (re: mechanically) and why?

Thank you!

From the carfax report it looks solid. However I would never buy another 04-06 TL with an auto transmission (and I might catch some flak for saying this, but its just what I would do). I've replaced the transmission on mine, and discovered that it was already replaced before, so my car as far as I know is now on it's 3rd transmission. Also after reading countless threads on here on transmission issues, I would not buy a car that is known for those issues, unless they will give you some kind of warranty on it. With these models you just don't know IF or WHEN the transmission will crap out, but knowing the transmission failing is the #1 complaint for these models, I'd stay far away from any that are not 6 speed manual.

Power steering pump / hoses and transmission has no relation to one another lol.

The power steering pump was probably replaced due to a leak and the hose was either part of the service or covered under a recall.

I would not be concerned.
