Buyer Beware Dead Foot Pedals

Ok so I am not sure why acura didn't do this from the factory but a aluminum dead foot pedal would have been nice. So I search on here and see a few options. Strut Kings has the best price and someone on here said the TSX one would fit. Well I ordered it and it was shipped extremely fast. Took about 3 days to get to me. Well it did not fit at all to me. Looked like shit. So I emailed strut king and asked if I could return it. They said no problem. Wish all companies were this good. So I ordered another pedal from ultimate pedals more than a week ago. I I did not receieve and email confirmation so I emailed them and asked if it went through and when I could expect it. They said it will be shipped out on oct 16!!!!! My GOD!!!! I ordered it on Sept 28. That is an awfully long time to wait. I am thinking about cancelling the order now and just making my own. Can't be that hard. Should have thought of this in the first place.

I got the dead pedal from Ulitmate Pedals as well. I talked directly to the owner/operator. Very nice guy and very helpful. Fit is perfect.

Although I am not certain, I am pretty sure these are made to order. This might also be a side-line business for the owner (not sure). Either or both of those help explain the timing.

Scott (?) was totally up-front and said it would be ~3 weeks. I knew that going in.

BigJack, you seem .... uhmmm .... picky. Nothing wrong with that, but you may not be happy with the pedal from UP either. It is NOT a match to the finish of the OE pedals.

The one from Strut king is supposed to be applied after you remove the current dead pedal but it still doesnt look as good as the one from Ultimatepedals. The reason Ultimate takes so long is because they make each pedal to order. I say be patient and wait. I have a spare dead pedal if any one is interested from Ultimate. I upgraded to the supercomputers version.

I looked around at these too and couldn't find any that even came close to supercomputers fit and finish. Easily the best ones out there right now. Real shame he stopped making them.

I ordered the dead pedal about a year ago from Supercomputer and it was not even close to matching the finish of the stock Type S brake and gas pedal. I sold that one and bought the one from Ultimate Pedals. It's a perfect fit and closer to the Type S pedals than the Supercompter one but still not a perfect match. I hear that Strut King's finish matchs the OEM Type S pedals but they don't have the dead pedal.

Yeah I just replaced them all so they would match. Sorry, I must have misunderstood your question, my bad.

i live down but the ultimate pedals fabrication shop. I've been in the shop seen the guy working and its just him and one other person making all the orders one at a time. So i wouldn't complain.

you're getting a very very well made machined product that is made with serious scrutiny. So for the sheer fact that it's not a crappy Chinese p.o.s., I would just put up with it.

It's a fricken dead pedal... Try waiting 3 months just for your clutch so your car will actually move again...

Big Jack, both Bearcat and I have Ultimate Pedals dead pedals. You must have hit them during a busy time. I waited 2-1/2 weeks for my pedal, but it was well worth it. I am 100% satisfied with my dead pedal from Ultimate Pedal and I would recommend them to anyone. By the way, it's good that you could return the Strut King pedal. It's a shame it didn't fit, but at least you could return it.

Patience Grasshopper!

If you can make the pedal, more power to you.

Three months? Ouch! What were you driving that whole time while you waited?

Ok I finally got my pedal. Yeah I am a little picky and very impatient. I'm working on it though. So the pedal looks good but I am not sure about the little rubber buttons. They just push in. I hope they stay. I'll post pics later.

Looks nice Jack. I went with the "no rubber" plugs on mine. Plus, I got the flanged pedal. The flange wraps around the right hand side, so you don't see the original black pedal.

Glad you made it through the wait. I hate it when we can't ship right away but it really is part of the deal with this business.

Thanks guys. It's funny how something this simple and relatively pointless can make the car seem so much better. I mean it's not like it adds hp or value but for some reason it really completes the foot well.

I like it, I think it looks really nice. But I think you are missing a pedal
