The 4G Trunk Drawer for a 3G TL.

One of the nice accessories in the 4G line that is not available to us is the new Trunk Drawer that is offered. I think it would be kind of nice to have in the 3G's as well. Has anyone considered this for their 3G? I'm wondering if it would even fit in a 3G TL.

That is pretty cool. It might be possible but I'm sure it would require some custom fabbing. I found the installation instructions on the web:
http://www.acurapartssuperstore.com/...runkDrawer.pdf

Another cool option on the 2009 are the cargo hooks. I would finallly be able to get home from the grocery store with all of th groceries intact.

I like the cargo hooks too. I tried to copy and paste pictures of the drawer and the hooks, but couldn't. Go to Acura.com, then click on TL and then click on Interior Accessories.

Those are neat. I'm not sure what I would keep in it though. A frisbee maybe? Probably just a bunch of the spare parts/bulbs I have from the mods I did.

I would use it for small tools for the car. Plus, tire shine, towel, wheel lock key...stuff like that.

Dude...I know. I'm not sure how I got going on the trunk!

It is...but I watched the video on the Acura website and it is not flush up against the top of the trunk. It looks like it sits about an inch lower from the top of the trunk, which didn't excite me at all. Doesn't BMW have this built in to the trunk?

We're thinking positive here. If the gap is a problem we can just add a foam lip above the tray to keep stuff from falling out.

I'm pretty sure that you can either get the trunk tray or these bag holder thingies. Seriously doubt you could still open the tray if you have these things hanging down.

I think this is definitely doable. I'm going to get my oil changed at the dealer tomorrow and I'll see if my dealer has one of these things in stock. I'm worried that it will hang too low and take up too much of the trunk. It's a great idea, though, and I'm definitely going to try to put this in my 3G (this or a homemade version of it.)

Let me know if you have any ideas? I'm sure that anyone who makes cabinets knows about all the sliding mechanisms. I think that regardless of whether we get this thing or the bag holders, we'll probably have to drill holes in the trunk. I just drilled holes for another mod so I'm not really scared about it anymore. Plus the installation instructions for this are pretty helpful (electrical tape trick.)

Injection molded for toughness. Three separate hangers per hook. Presets for simple installation. Not applicable with Trunk Drawer.

Part No: 08L96-TK4-200. This item retail for $23, but we are offering it at 25% below retail price.

These are or might still be on the Acura parts web site. They are located on the TXS parts though.

You can get these on Ebay for $17 or from Curry Acura parts store for around $20. These are definitely on the Acura parts website. That is where they forward you if you go to the Acura.com page and poke around.

Yes, I also asking my dealer a long time ago. Well months anyway. He said the same this. You can get one or the other but NOT BOTH!.
He also said that they wouldn't put this in the a 3G. But he is just the sales guy. Not the installer....
I too would like the tray or maybe one hook on the side???

If you get a hook on the side, don't forget your protection.....

you misunderstood my post...there are no hooks in the 3G trunk.

the question I was answering was, "...are there holes there already for these or do you need to drill?"

there are already several screw holes in the trunk for the knobs that hold the liner on...that is what i was referring to. Those holes may be compatible with the hooks, thus not requiring drilling.

Update: I talked to my dealer rather than driving over and they are not stocking the trunk drawers. But the parts dood was interested to see if this would work, too, so he ordered some for his stock. I'm going over there tomorrow to check it out. Supposedly they will be in by 8am (I don't see how he will get them so quickly but whatever.) Again, I'll post some photos when I get 'em.

Hey trunk hook dood: post a thread about installing those when you get them in.

Here is a linky to Curry for all the parts: http://www.curryacuraparts.com/tl09.html

You can sometimes get these same items more cheaply on Ebay.

Acura has made hook-ups, yo.
You order something at closing and they'll get it in the next day first thing in the morning.

They either get some from a local dealer or keep them in a local ware-house where they keep the rest of the cars.

I'll ask about the hooks but all I asked the Acura parts dept. for is a drawer. I checked out my trunk again tonight and there's not a ton of space in there... Pretty worried that this is not worth pulling off. I'm still dreaming big about it though!
