Buy 08 TL-S or lease NEW 4G TL?

I'm curiosu what the consensus is here.

I am debating on two choices:

Lease a new 4G TL. either a base w/tech or just an SH-AWD non-tech. I believe I could get into one for $2500/down and about $500/month. maybe slightly less.

I can BUY a used 2008 3G TL-S for about $30,000. if I put down the same amount $2500, and finance the rest over 72 months, it comes out to about 500/month.

what is the smarter move? on the purchase, at the end of hte loan, I own the car, but if you assume I buy a car with about 15k on the odometer, and I put abotu 15k/year on it - at the end of my loan, I have over 100k miles on the car. in six years, the 2008 is goign to be 7-8 MY old. what is an 8 year old TL-S iwth 100k miles going to be worth then? 5k? it may not be worth a ton, such that the "residual" value at the end of the laon doesn't really make it worth a whole lot at the end.. or will it be worth 10k in 6 years??

How many miles on the 08? The price seems high, unless it has 5k miles on it or something similar. If the 08 is a CPO, the warranty isn't an issue, you'll get the extended warranty from Acura. Even if you have 100k at the end of the loan, it will be worth more than $5k, easily.

I drove an ok, it's a fairly different machine than a TL-S. The base has a more floaty, luxury feel, than a TL-S.

The 08 is expensive. I got mine new for that much. Try to get a better deal on that.

Prices vary a lot for some reason. There is a local stealership that has a 08 CBP TL-S with 13,000 miles on it they want $34.9!!!! im like WTF isnt that what it cost new? lol
I just got my 07 KBP TL-S with 23,000 miles for $27.
$27ish give or take a few seems to be the going rate for the S's right now.

The price on that 08 is a joke. Hell I paid $1,700 less than that for mine NEW.

Buy over lease. You'll own it when it's all said and done.

I'd do the 4G TL over the 08 TYPE S.. cuz of resale value and financially makes more sense. With that said.. I wouldn't be caught dead driving in it though.

I like buying my cars-not leasing. I feel like you get nothing when you're done-kinda like renting an apartment vs. purchasing a house.

I think the look of the 3G is much better than a 4G. The 3G is MUCH sexier in my opinion. If you can handle the look of the 4G's, you're a better man than I am.

I can't stand the look of the 4G. I bought my '08 Type-S two weeks before the '09 dropped to make sure I got the 3G. The price on Type-S is too high though, get em to knock it down.

honestly - what is a reasonable price for an 08 TL-S with roughly 15-20k miles...

26, 27, 30?? i remember them selling for 31.5-32k NEW toward the end of hteir active sales life..... so i think high 20s is themost i'd go...

I got mine new for $32.5k with every available option (High Performance Tires, Wheel Locks, Trunk Tray, etc) in September. I know others have gotten an even better deal than that.

With 20,000 miles I'd have a hard time paying over $26k.

for what it's worth, I traded my 2001 CL typeS for 6,500 when I bought my TL-S. Other dealerships (bmw/infiniti/lexus) would only offer me 5,000 to 5,500 for it. It was 7yrs old and had 116,000 miles on it.
if you plan on keeping a car 6-7yrs, I would personally buy the car. And in my opinion the price difference in 6-7yrs from a 08 to 09 TL won't be that drastic even considering the generation change.
Another thing, for me, I opted to just pay cash for the TL-S because at the time the market was falling off big time, so I didn't see the value in holding on to my cash... not like I was going to invest it, plus the loan rate for a purchase was higher that interest from the bank.
