I spoke to a lawyer today and he stated that he would charge me a flat rate of $375 and that the fine would be around $400. Damn that shit sucks He said the best he can do is try to knock the 5 points I would recieve. Is this really worth it? My biggest concern is not so much the money upfront but how much would my premium rise do to points. Man all this shit couldn't come in a worse time. That's the money I was saving for some rims.

95 in a 25 in a car is silly unless the road dictates differently. 4 Years ago I was pulled for 100 in a 25 while on my Gsxr 600. Now this was my neighborhood road but in that particular section its like barren. the beginning if the road starts out as a 1/4 section of straitaway that has woods on one side and a closed warehouse on the other. There are no intersecting roads nor houses in this section. Not to mention there is a time factor to be considered. A Gsxr600 can go from zero to 100 and back to zero before a vette can get to 100. $400 to the lawyer and I never even saw the Judge. The trick was, I may or may have not been doing 100 in that 25, but that cop have no way of proving it other than saying "I had to do 100 mph to catch him" which would have cost him his job. I never looked at the speed, but 13k rpm in 3rd gear says I was in that general area, but it only lasted for a second.

Anyways the point of the story, the road and the length of time in my mind matters. Lots of roads have incorrect speed limits for todays technology.

I'd argue that there are too many idiot drivers to raise speed limits because of technology. Currently there are too many Nascar/ Earnhart Jr fans that think they have all the skills in the world with their unsafe cars not properly maintained. They have spend 100s of hours watchin' Jr on Sunday and it can't be that hard to drive fast right?

Personally I'd rather see a judgment clause for the police and another reason to question tickets in court. Also a clause for properly maintained Cars and ways to get the beater cars off the roads. We would all agree there are times and ways to drive at high speeds safely.

I am from mass and you know all the advertisements they have at this time of the year. That's a 200 ticket if they have not changed the law recently. You never get much over 70 when it's that late at night. I have never been pulled over in my CL S or either of my Tls or my G and I drive that area all the time. Yes I have been known to move with traffic at 80-85, but when it is late, you're insane to do more than about 75.

Lightbulb Reduce Crime via Routine Traffic Stops

Some police departments have come to the realization that one of the tools you can use to reduce crime is by performing the routine traffic stops such as speeding. During a routine traffic stop, many other crimes are discovered that prevent future crimes from being committed. DUI's, illegal possession of firearms, outstanding warrants, narcotics and/or driving without a license (there is a reason they no longer have their driver's license).

Just to prevent misunderstandings, I am not saying that routine traffic stops alone will reduce crime. That method is just one tool that the police have at their disposal.

beat this (not that im proud of it..)

Amount of Fine: was facing roughly 5000$ (didnt get that much)

How fast and what was the speed limit: 96 in 55

Where - city / state - backroad or highway: quebec "backroad"

Time of day or night: 1 AM

State Police / Sheriff or Local Police: provincial police

...went up to 130+ afterwards.... got a bad luck... got caught.

result: faced reckless driving and "trying to escape", on top of multiple traffic violations + speeding ticket. oh, got handcuffed, too.

never doing that again.

That was one bad night for me
Along with 3 pts on my licence, i got in trouble for possession of a loaded weapon, failure to yield to a police officer, running a red light, and goddamn tints.

Usually the JCPD dont care much for speeding, but some cops are real dicks there
WOW!

69 in 45 (ticketed at 60 in 45, was speed trap in TN)
Fine was line $153
One of those roads that coudl [ass for an interstate where the speed drops to 45 and the guy nailed me, in other states I am sure the speed limit would have been 55 or 60. I actually found on this trip last yeat that TN has numerous speed traps like this that the counties love to set up. I will be doing less traveling to TN.
