Burning Clutch Smell?

Burning Clutch Smell?

hey guys.. i was wondering if anyone else smells it coming from their 6 speed. i thought it might be it breaking in but not to sure, it might not even be the clutch. the smells comes from the right front.

nope no clutch smell here, have about 7700 miles on the clock and it is silky smooth with no hint of odor form the clutch. are you riding the clutch in any way?

Slow down!!! The only time I smelled a burning smwll was one day in deep snow when I turned of the traction control and let the limeted slip force me through some deep white stuff. I dont know if it was the clutch or the LSD. I did get thruogh though!

No odors...

Nope, nothing on mine either. No smells of any kind what so ever.

If it seems to be coming from the right front that likely wouldn't be the clutch since that's on the drivers side of the engine. Perhaps you have a dragging brake??

How old is your car? Remember that the engine comes "oiled" from the factory. That might be the smell.

Then, there is nothing to worry about, as long as it is present only sometimes and it fades away.
