bumper damaged in accident
Hello Fellow TLers,
This past Wednesday, my TL was hit from behind, fortunately the guy who hit me, pulled over and has insurance.
There doesn't seem to be alot of damage, a scratch and some indentdation to the bumper, but it has not been put on the rack yet, to see for other damage.
My question, do you all, when working with the Body shop, what can I do to assure that either re-painting or replacing the bumper, that the TL will be "just like new" after the repair?
thanks for your assistance,
Josie

The insurance company referred to a body shop near where I work. One of the first questions, the body shop asked me was, how many doors does my TL have? I immediate thought they can look and/or take pictures of my car. But they arenot doing work on my baby.
Then I called my Acura dealership where I purchased the car, and asked them for their recommendation. Fortunately, just down the street from the dealeship is the body shop they send their cars to have body work done to.

Come on man... you're 47 and do not know what to do.... Do what you need to do based on the insurance rules for your state and take the car to any reputable body shop. If it is just the bumper cover they will not blend the paint to the metal panels. Insurance campanies will just pay for bumper damage...

There are people in this world who do go very long periods of time wtihout ever having an accident and some who've never had an accident at all. Not everyone is experienced with body shops.
