This was a fun run between me and him. We raced on some random streets of mexico. I give major props to the Regal. It's a fast ass car. Enjoy the vid!

But good runs, I was actually surprised of the TL pulling especcially at the higher ends

The engine is the same as the Pontiac Grand Prix GTP. It has the 240HP and 280TQ(i believe) supercharged 3.8L V6 4AT. They run high 14's with good drivers that can prevent alot of wheelspin!

fyi, that regal runs high 13's to low 14's.. i will be digging with him soon, hopefully. I know he has i/e and i heard from some people that he just put the high boost pulley in. He's a good driver and i have seen him beat a 6-spd 3rd gen tl s/c around the area..

I was actually there to race the s/c 3rd gen TL, since he(or his nephew) did not believe i ran a 14.7 @ the track. Too bad he didn't show up and his nephew got busted. =\

next time, hopefully.

 

So this links up with the guy that posted on Clubgp about this race. If you can beat him, that tells us a lot about the TL S/C he beat.

LOL... so let me clarify what I have in performance mods.. The only "GO" mods are AEM COLD AIR INTAKE and GREDDY EXHAUST with NO RESONATOR. I have NO AFTERMARKET HEADERS, since there is NO SUCH THING AS AFTERMARKET HEADERS FOR OUR TL's since it's welded... I am not tuned, no reason to?? I have no high flow cats either...

I was there to run the 3rd gen s/c TL, I KNOW I WILL LOSE TO A S/C TL. Of course, lol. But I have not ran one yet so i just want to see how i'd do against a s/c TL.

THE STORY IS THIS...

The funny thing was, this one night when me and this other AZ'er(ecliptics) came out to have some fun, some random dude with an RSX came up to us and told us one of our TL's had to be a TL-S and asked if we wanted to run a "bone stock" 6-spd TL. I told him that mine isn't a TL-S and it's jsut a base TL a/t with AEM CAI and what I ran @ the track and he was surprised. He said his guy ran a 14.6 w/ the 6-spd.. And then I was talking about how I seen a video of this 6-spd TL s/c that lost to the regal ON VIDEO. Then he finally came out and told us that his uncle was the one with the 6-spd s/c TL... So me and a few of us go to a random spot to do a little private run for $$$... After they ran, we went back to the spot and I saw the s/c 6-spd TL, but they were taking off. I talked to the RSX guy and he said that they are goin to run somewhere.. The mentioned place was bad since we got fked over there a month or two ago, so i was paranoid about that spot and decided not to go...

Anywho, i hope I catch that s/c TL one day.. I like to race TL's


and also, does anyone know how fast the 95 Cobra's are? I toook some dude with the cobra and beat him like 4/4... He didn't seem to happy about it. He also said he had 6 cats? Is that true?

Hey my bad about that, I misunderstood your mods.

I don't want to make excuses or anything, but Ive been having a problem with my car where it hits the rev limiter when I race from a roll and then it pulls alot of timing for a few seconds because it knocks from hitting fuel cut. ( Every time from a slow roll; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o7bF9_x0gXQ , http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NbXw8ENJM-c , http://videos.streetfire.net/video/5...f5012ef932.htm ) That's why you took off on me so fast in the first race. On the freeway is a different story, I lose to alot of slower cars on the freeway. I dont have any real "horsepower" mods, and with my bad gearing I would need at least headers to be able to keep up with you on the freeway.

Good runs though, Id like a rematch with either even passengers, or with no passengers, and a run from a dig if we ever get a chance!

 

My best time at the track was 14.0 @ 96mph before I had the transmission repaired. I have shorter gears now which will probably lower my already bad trap speed even more (the reason im not fast on the freeway)

 

With the 14.0 I would definitely expect you to pull him down low.

 

hahaha yeah thats me. I got a ticket awhile back for "spinning my rear tires" and "fishtailing" as the cop said. The RWD swap was an inside joke with my main forum because of that ticket.


I really do have intake and exhaust though.

That's the good old Buick V6. They make tons of torque and are usually great off the start but can be lacking in top end. I pulled a 12.9@ only 104mph nearly ten years ago. I was about to say something about the revlimiter but it looks like you already covered it. It's amazing how much the motor sounds like mine only quieter.

 

^ def. an amazing machine.. for those who don't know wussup with that car, you guys need to race one with a driver that can handle the lowend.. they aren't a joke, lol..
