Brembo Brakes on a 5AT

Brembo Brakes on a 5AT
Firstly, apologies if this has been done to death - just point me in the right direction and I'll go away quietly..
I'm looking at getting an 05TL Silver/Onyx 5AT. Don't hate me because I can't drive a stick - it's on the wrong side for me!
Question - What (if any) advantages would their be in my requesting Brembo brakes on this car (installed at the dealer)? Or have I missed the point entirely?
How much are Brembos? How many miles should I be able to get on them?
It just occurs to me that Autos use the brakes more than Sticks because it is their primary method of slowing the vehicle, as opposed to using the gears. And brakes are VERY important to me.
Enlighten me, Oh Knowledgable Ones!

no one has done it yet, you would be the first on this board as no one has ever claimed they have completed it. i think trying to retrofit the stock brembos would be a waste of money. i would wait for a kit from comptech and install that. its going to be a brembo kit anyways but you'll know you have all the parts you need. plus it will probably be a little larger size rotor which can mean better stopping power.

Ahhh, the light bulb has just gone on! Thanks, guys. I can see that it's more involved than I thought. I'll wait and see how the 5AT drives (and stops) with the stock brakes before I start changing things. There's no way I'd be doing it myself, so I'd have the added expense of a mechanic.

It's grippier ceramic pads I believe. You should be able to buy them soon from an online dealer based on the fact that those with the A-spec kits will be in need of replacements in the near future.
