Question Break In For 04 TL

Not sure if there is another location to post this message. If so, please re-direct. I found a web site which talked about breaking in 4 stroke engines. I guess the guy specializes in motorcycles, however, he said the break in should apply to all 4 stroke motors. What do you guys think?

its your car that your are breaking in. if you believe what this guy says and you are willing to apply the same to your new TL then go for it. i read that article as well before i took delivery of my TL and if you do a search on the net there are as many if not more arguments against that technique. i was too scared to try it and i am skeptical towards what i read on the net most the time so i just followed what the manual said. babied it till it had 600 miles and then slowly pushed her harder. breakin for me was no problem since i drive 120 miles a day commute. but from all the threads that i have read on different forums its seems as tho varying the engine load is the most common. don't stick at one rpm for a long time at the same speed. i have 2100 miles on the car right now and it spins solidly all through the rpm's, very nice acceleration.
