Braking vibration

Anyone notice this.

When braking hard or soft on a bumpy road I feel a rumble in the brake pedal. More than I have noticed in other cars.

People argued over this topic a bit....some thought it was the ABS working when you braked over uneven pavement or gravel; however, it also happened to the original poster when the driving surface was normal and dry. My advice was to have a tech take a look and determine if something was amiss.

If it's just happening over uneven or rocky surface, it could....and I stress the word could be just your ABS working.

So, it is normal to actually feel the pulses of the ABS?

IMO, yes. I'm not mechanic though...but in my previous cars when the ABS would activate when I braked over rough/gravel surfaces, I would feel the pulsating of the brakes through my pedal slightly.

Hope this helps...I'm sure someone will come along soon enough with more words of wisdom.

Its the ABS. If you come hot and heavy on a bumpy road some tire lift will ensue locking the tire, the abs is releasing it!. I dont know who makes the ABS and VSA components for Honda but this new generation is so good it seems like it can anticipate whats going to happen. The same thing with VTM-4.

I've engaged ABS a few times (once when I didn't see the red light and almost went through the intersection) and all times the rumbling and grinding of the pedal happened. The last time was so severe that several passerby walking on the sidewalk turned and looked... they must have thought there was an accident or something.
