Brakes warm-up?

I am wondering whether the Type-S brakes need brake warm-up? The problem I am having is the bite on the rotor doesn't seem to brake enough until it is hot enough. After like a couple of application of brake usage, it gets better. I am hearing this groan sound just right after it stops like the vehicle's momentum wants to go forward and wants to slide off the brakes. After maybe 10 minutes of city driving, everything else is smooth and normal. Is this normal?

year and miles will help in diagnosis- are your brakes the original or aftermarket?

Any "excessive" braking or panic braking the first couple hundred miles? Conventional wisdom is no hard braking on the TL-S Brembos for the first 200 miles.

Ours ('07 TL-S 2300 miles) does not do what you describe. The braking might be a tad weaker the first stop or two, but hardly enough to notice. I don't push the car right out of the driveway though - I'll give it a little time for the engine to come up to temerature. By then the brakes have had a couple of stops on 'em too.

No hard braking at all. Just city driving and some highway.

It does stop well, but I just hear like a sligh groan sound. You know when you let go the brakes just right before the car moves (it's an automatic)? It sounds like that for like the first few stops.

After the gentle break in period so the rotors get heat cycled- do the pad bed in procedure as recommended by MrHeelToe and your noise should go away- if not- PM me for a
high speed re-bedding procedure that will work for sure
