Brakes going after 3 months certified buy?
Just bought my TL (by the way lovin' the ride!)...certified 2004 and the brakes are and have been squeeling for about a month now (on and off). It's really hit and miss, somedays it squeels and others it doesn't. I dug up the paper work on the inspection they do when the car comes in and they have the front pads noted as 6mm on left and 7 mm on rigfht, and checked off "meets acura standards". That seems pretty good to mean and if it's right it shouldn't be squeeling.
At this point I'm thinking of taking it back to the dealer, but wanted to see what you guys suggest.

if you have a manual transmission, you have brembo brakes. The brembos are known for this, there is a TSB for tis. Type keywords brembo squeel in the search area.

While we're at it, here is a comprehensive list from the Garage of the existing TSB's: https://acurazine.com/forums/showthread.php?t=154245

I'd take the car to the dealer and see if they can have a different technician than the one that certified your car look at your brakes, because it's not uncommon for one technician to measure brakes at 5/32 and then the next service in a different tech checks those same brake pads and they are 7/32. It's all in who your dealing with. I would,nt be too demanding since you've had the car for 3 months and brakes are considered wearable, but who knows, they might be able to do something for you. Good luck to you.

So I called the dealer today and asked him how long should front break pads last that are measure 6mm. He said depending on how you drive but about 12-15k miles. Well I told him that I only did 2k miles so far and they are already screeching.
He said to press on the break and give it gas which will hopefully burn off the metal particle that's causing the screeching and then do that in reverse. Has anyone heard of this method? And before I call back the dealer on how long I should do this for and with how much pressure on the brake/gas, can someone give me some advice. Thanks.

Try this-When coming to a stop and you hear the noise, press the pedal harder and see if the noise stops. If it does, chances are you need anti-squeal solution placed on the back of the pads.

I love those mechanics... Do something you wouldn't ordinarily do to fix something. A certified car doe snot mean the brakes are new. Yes it should mean they have a decent service life left though. But those brakes tend to wear fast. The better they are the faster they wear...
